Looking into getting one, is the 4K TV box worth it? Or is there not enough content warranting the extra cost?

Its is still on the fire stick search function, I downloaded it last night. Though I used the voice search through the fire tv remote app for my phone. Maybe worth downloading and trying that way.

Or you can download it through amazon site and sync it over..... https://www.amazon.co.uk/ES-Mobile-File-Explorer/dp/B008K6HN8I

On the fire tv settings I think you can sync your downloads as long as they are linked to the same account.

Quick one mate. I used this link to download Kodi a few weeks ago and done it all with my Firestick remote. It now looks like the link has changed? I think. Sure this says that you have to use a laptop. I'm trying to get it set up on a friend’s Firestick but cant seem to find a way of doing with just the remote like i did.

Any help muchly appreciated.

Seems Amazon has got rid of ES Explorer off it's app store during the latest update. Laptop required now.

Got mine on Amazon Prime day for a tenner, best money I've ever spent. I'm using Exodus myself, there's the odd thing you cant find a stream for (sometimes resetting the stick works) but otherwise it's excellent.

Also recommend Football Replays for full matches or goals of games you've missed. Caught the Community Shield on there last night. Should never have to worry about missing a game again! Although if anyone knows anything better for more extensive highlights give me a shout.

For some reason my menu seems to have gone into voice mode and I can't use anything. Anybody had this before?

Fixed it, what a pain in the arse.

Was looking to get an Amazon Fire Stick for the coming Premier League season but I'm reading you can't directly download Kodi onto it anymore? Would I still be able to get Kodi through a different avenue onto the Firestick?

You've never been able to directly download kodi on it afaik. You have to sideload it.

ES Explorer was available through the Amazon app store and you used to be able to use that to side load Kodi directly through the stick. Looks like Amazon have pulled that now so adbfire it seems is now the preferred method again. It's pretty simple, just follow the guide that Upinsmoke has posted.

I haven't done one for a while but seen people saying it's no longer available and that guide has changed so assumed that to be the case, maybe yours has not had a software update? Either way you can still get Kodi on them so no problem.

We got the Amazon Fire box last week to go with our new TV - loving it so far.

Free access to TV, movies, music, countless apps, and can use it for NBCSN to watch the games out here in the US too.

It also streams in 4k which is a nice touch.

Sideload Kodi onto it.

What's the benefits? I see Kodi mentioned for watching the games all the time, but we get every PL game here anyway. What else does it have?

Lots of VOD add ons for films/TV etc, Exodus, SALTS, Phoenix, UK Turk to name a few. Not just new stuff but older films/TV series, all available when you want to watch. There are options for live TV too. Can use it to connect devices around the home on a network, NAS stuff (not clued up on this myself).

If you have an Android phone, the easiest way to put kodi on the stick is via "Apps to Fire" app

I use sportsmania for the football but that's a paid service but worth it. Besides that I use maintenance tool to keep it running smooth and Phoenix for other films and tv.

Turned my fire stick on today and the picture is all stretched! No idea how this has happened. Going into the display settings and changing the resolution or the calibration with the 4 arrows doesn't work.

Anyone got any ideas?

Good news :)

HDMI I find can be a bit weird at times, glad you got sorted.

I have an HDMI audio splitter device to run sound from my box into an old surround sound amplifier, splits the audio out into RCA. Had it going through an HDMI 3 way switch and had to take the power out of it every time I wanted to use the box to get it working. Got rid of the 3 way and now it works fine.
