I purchased the Crossword puzzle game from the App Store and I'm loving it, quite easy to use once you get used to it, free updates on your crosswords daily.

Everything you could want from a crossword game.
I went for 2 Across. I think I liked the screenshots better or something. I love crosswords, me. Not a patch on the NY Times crosswords app on my Nintendo DS, though.

For golf enthusiasts, I downloaded Tee Shot Live on the weekend, it's a great app for tracking all your golf statistics such as fairways hit, greens in regulation, number of putts, club distances etc.  Great if you want to know how to improve your game.  It's easy to enter the courses you play (I uploaded a bunch of UK courses over the weekend), and you can download the one's on their website.  It also tracks cumulative stats as well as the round.

If you want to track your score in a round (you and your partners), golf tracker is useful.

Bit of brain training, too, but crosswords no. 1. You're right: it's perfect.

A couple of useful utilities:

You're No.1 - one phone number for "speed dial", press it and it dials it......I've used it for my wife's office number, can never remember it.

HurryMail - enter key email addresses from your address book, press the app & it brings them up, hit an address and it inputs it into mail, easier than going into mail and searching for the address.

For golfers:

Breakmeter - put your IPhone onto the green and it gives you the degrees of break and whether it's up or down.....not sure if it's legal, but given my putting, I can use it!

Good point.

All of my apps are through the store.

There's a 3rd source, which are web apps from Apple.  I haven't gone back through these since I got the IPhone, but have downloaded a bunch of them in the past to my Touch.

They are more interactive web pages than apps as such, though!

Yes, you need to be linked to the web to operate them, some are quite useful though!

OK

I just installed 'Remote', and I think a little bit of wee has come out!!!

My iPhone is now a remote control for my whole iTunes library, and it works scandalously well. It's actually hard to describe how fucking good this is. It has everything from volume control, track scanning, album art, library, everything.

Even better, I can control airtunes speakers through it, so I can just pump it to anywhere I have a airport express and a set of powered speakers - on the fly!!

Unbelievable application

There are a few language phrasebooks for free on AppStore which are cool. My phone is also jailbroken, so I have loads of apps including WinterBoard, Rename, NES Emulator, MakeItMine, and my favourite, CallMe, which enables you to put a load of speed-dials on your springboard, each with a photo-icon of the person.

Guitar toolkit is good.
It has a metronome, you can tune your guitar to it, it has a decent chord inventory, and it does tones.

Karajan is also useful for learning musician's.  Tests you on recognition of chords, scales, intervals, pitch and bpm.

I got this the other day, but have yet to try.

Scarily, i was just talking about it to a friend about 40seconds ago.

It didnt work for him, and thus, called it 'a bit wank'

Glad someone else has proved him wrong. Look forward to playing it later on....

Units is really quite useful. I also got the spirit level thing, but I think it is as useful as a seismometer.
