Yeah I asked Smiff to suggest a drive and he said the Pioneer one, currently I'd be trying to do it with my laptop drive (:-X) but I can't find an external one anywhere. I don't have a PC, just a laptop, so I'm looking a bit fucked if the expected happens and my laptop drive wont burn them properly.

Oi! Click the fucking link!
sorry didnt see it!
Unfortunately, even the most beautiful love stories finish, but they leave behind a lot of wonderful memories, like when my M1 and I kissed for the first time at Welkom, when she looked straight into my eyes and told me 'I love you'.

Been trying for ages reading around etc and I'm sure I'm doing everything right. Just wont work!

Going to give it one last try the pioneer drive, but have to wait for my 360 to come back first
Have you downloaded an Xbox360 game or a PC game?

Yeah, give me some credit ;D

Nah seriously mate, the downloads come with a iso and the dvd file as they should and they all burn correctly but carn't be read by the xbox. The games I got when I got it flashed work so no problem with the firmware

Even changed the bitsetting on my drive (LG) but still no luck

Sorry mate didn't mean to sound like i'm taking the piss.

Anyway...What brand/type of DVD's are you using to burn your games on.

They MUST be Dual Layer.

Whats program are you using to burn your ISO file?

Hmm, my Assassin's Creed download consists of a load of WinRAR archives, a load of 'R' files followed by a number (R30 file, R31 file etc etc), an SFV file and a system information file. ??? ???

I'm using the verbatim DL, Smiff said these are the best for the job

I have tried using IMGBurn and something else I think it might be DVDburn but not sure as I'm on a different machine at the moment

Feel free to PM me any advice unless your all out of ideas

God people, just use NewsGroups... spend £7 a month and get everything you can think of, instantly and at full speed.

www.newshosting.com (server you need)
www.newzbin.com (site containing links - 25p a week)
www.newsleecher.com (software to download shizzle with, enter server info from newshosting.. then just open links in newzbin.com)
newsleecher.com is down so http://www.download.com/NewsLeecher/3000-2164_4-10633586.html

Just double click on the first RAR file and it should unpack all the files leaving you with one ISO file

Been looking at these, can your isp throttle your downloads like they do through BT. Tiscali are c*nts for this

MMMMMh. Yes, as usual Smiff is right about the Verbatim DL disks.

I use XBOX backup creator with ImgBurn to create my disk.

Sounds like your downloaded image may be corrupt or your DVD burner isn't up to the job.

If it makes any difference Tom, CloneCD is what Smiff said to me to use, as it does exactly what is required.

Haha look at us all, quoting Smiff. Maybe he really does know everything.

When i first flashed my Xbox i read that the Pioneer was best but thought i'd try my existing burner before i forked out for the pioneer

I have a NEC DVD+-RW ND-3450A 103C

I have burnt loads of 360 games successfully using this burner.

COD4, Bioshock,Simpson's etc

Yes and then you have the joy of missing chunks and fannying about with different servers trying to get them.

P2P is so much easier provided your router understand upnp & your ISP isn't shit.

Not sure, all I know its its all encrypted and safer. And uses standard internet port (80) to download. All in all its miles better then Torrentz.

Usenet isn't encrypted unless you are connecting to it with SSL, nor does it run on port 80.

Most newshosting providers will let you run on port 80, if a provider was throttling other ports. Yes typically it will be 119 however. I thought it was encrypted my bad.
