I'd cut and paste them for you but there are millions of them!!

One bit above, others below:

:: Seed Bonus

The seed bonus is quite simple, for every hour that your physically seeding a torrent on site you will receive 1 bonus point.

You can exchange these points by clicking the bonus link.

*For 75 points you will get 1GB to your upload ratio.

*For 150 points you will get 2.5GB added to your upload ratio.

*For 250 points you will get 5GB added to your upload ratio.

*For 450 points you will get 10GB added to your upload ratio. (New)

If you download a torrent and do not complete it ie don't download sample or NFO file, you will show as still downloading and not seeding therefore you will not get any bonus points.

We recommend that you download the complete file to qualify for the seed bonus.

It does not matter how many torrents you are seeding you will still get the same bonus. Do not ask us to increase the bonus or add more to it. It is a Bonus not a pisstake, and if people insist on moaning about what it pays out we will remove it as we are not obliged to give you it. It is and always will be an incentive to seed after site requirements.

:: Banned Client List

The following clients are banned on leechers lair:

      *Anarch

      *Ares

      *Azureus 2.0

      *Azureus 2.1

      *Azureus  2.3

      *Bittorrent (all variants)

      *Bitcomet (all variants)

      *Bitlord (all variants)

      *Python

      *RAZA

      *Shareza

      *µtorrent 1.7 & 1.7.1

      *Flashget

Leecherslair recommends the use of utorrent which can be found at http://www.utorrent.com

:: Uploading rules - Torrents violating these rules may be deleted without notice

Any breach of the following uploading rules will result in your upload privileges taken away

      * All uploads must include a proper NFO.

        * All files must be in original format (usually 14.3 MB RARs).

        * Pre-release stuff should be labeled with an *ALPHA* or *BETA* tag.

        * Make sure not to include any serial numbers, CD keys or similar in the description (you do not need to edit the NFO!).

        * Make sure your torrents are well-seeded for at least 48 hours.

        * Do not include the release date in the torrent name.

        * Stay active! You risk being demoted if you have no active torrents.

        * You must be able to dedicate a minimum of 30kb/s per uploaded torrent.

        * Do not upload more than your connection can handle.

        * Do not have other torrents on the go at the same time, ie: seeding back torrents you have already downloaded or leeching other torrents as this has a detrimental effect on your upload speed

        * Images must be attached to all movie files

*Do not upload torrents with multiple tracker URL's, we have a private tracker patch installed. Which means nobody will be able to download from you.

        * Pictures should be added to torrents using the browse function on the upload page

If you have something interesting that somehow violate these rules (e.g. not ISO format), ask a mod and we might make an exception.

*NO TOOLS, HOW-TO's OR ANYTHING TO DO WITH HACKING IS TO BE UPLOADED.

      * NEVER rename scene releases or their rar files. By renaming the files it will mean that nobody else with the file can jump on and help seed it, and it also breaks site rules.

Please do not upload DVDR's unless you have the speed to cope with them, leechers do not want to be waiting days for a download.

Anyone uploading torrents that are not seeded at a minimum of 30kb/s will have their torrents removed from site, and possibly have your upload privileges removed.

      Uploaders speed Guide

We have a good dedicated upload team at leecherslair who all have either high speed lines or Seedboxes. This is why we have a good reputation for our download speeds. At no time should uploaders who have the following speed restrictions upload anything outside this guide:

      Below 30kb/s upload rate

Do not upload any torrent over 100 megabytes

      Between 30kb/s and  50kb/s

Do not upload anything over 500 megabytes

      Between 50kb/s and 120kb/s

Do not upload anything above 700 megabytes

Uploading DVD-R's should be left to high speed uploaders only.

      ================================================================

These restrictions have been put in place for the good of the site. Members do not want to wait forever to download torrents.

If you are unsure whether you can upload a specific torrent then contact a member of staff.

Anyone who uploads outside this speed guides will have the torrent removed immediately from site and will also have their upload privileges removed.

and so it goes on.

Anyone got any advice on configuiring torrent clients? I use uTorrent but no matter what I seem to do it says that I have no incoming connections and that this will affect my download speed. Don't really have a clue how to sort it either ???.

Always seem to have problems with p2p, well torrent clients in particular. Have been using bit comet and utorrent but speeds are always never more than 20-30kbs max per task. Mostly not more than10-20.

What's the problem? I know all about port forwarding, have done that. Is it just traffic shaping and shall I just bin my isp (pipex)? Or is there something else I'm missing?

Anyone post a quick guide to client connection setups, bit comet or utorrent?

Try private trackers...always a lot faster than the public ones. And make sure that there are plenty of seed fo the torrent you are downloading.....my shite sky broadband is only giving me 680k connection, but i regularly get download speeds of between 70-100kB/s.

What isp are you with AJ? It's probably a case of you fooled them temporarily, now they're onto you using p2p and have shaped all the traffic to rip you off again! That's my theory anyway, I'm going with 'be' at the end of this month.

I thought upload speed was relative to download speed, something about you getting a better download speed from someone should you be giving a good upload speed to them

That's true but not the whole story. BT, like most network protocols, sends a special acknowledgment message to confirm receipt of every bit of data. If you let it use all your upstream, these acks get delayed and the other end of the connection will stop sending data or re-send old data until it receives a message confirming receipt. Therefore, you should set P2P clients to use no more than about 80% of your maximum upstream to make sure there's enough bandwidth for the acks to get out straight away.

Go much below 80% and your speeds will drop for the reason you give, go much above it and you bung up your own connection.

Ok, I'm very much a noob with all this Torrent business but after much faffing about I've finally got a few things downloading.

However they are downloading very slowly. I have broadband so surely they should be downloading faster than 50 - 70kB/s? or is that what is normal?

I read somewhere that its my TCP/IP half open limit or something (?) but then I read do not mess about with that as it may totally fuck your computer up.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Try restricting your upload speed until the download finishes, depending on your client should be fairly easy to do.

Download speed is affected by loads of stuff, number of seeders, leechers, upload speed of those you are getting the files from, packet shaping (stuff that the ISP does to reduce speed of P2P traffic) etc etc.

ALWAYS ALWAYS seed as much as you can though after you have the whole download. Personally I aim for at least 3 - 4 times what I have downloaded, and maybe more if there are only a few seeds. The whole system only works if you give at least as much as you get!!
