anyone not getting good speeds on torrents, its one of a few things

1 you are using a shit torrent site
2 your isp is capping torrents
3 your router isnt configured correctly
4 your torrent client isnt configured correctly

all easily fixable

How is that one fixable?

its not necessarily fixable, if you encrypt your torrents most ISP's will let the traffic thorugh no problems, you will of course need to be downloading a torrent that is being encrypted by the people downloading it, theres a simple option in uTorrent to turn it on

if that doesnt work then theres a much more complicated way of doing it using SSL or some such

You get a MAC code and move to a proper ISP.

Read back a few pages in this thread. Uknova is certainly not the same as it once was and thebox.biz (which mostly consist of disgruntled members from the former) is now the best place for british broadcasting. Unfortunately they have adopted an extremely restrictive policy for new users (ie. invite only as of now), but with a bit of patience hopefully we can get a decent distribution of invites going here among us fellow reds.

I'm using encryption but as you said, it's hit and miss really. I'm using Azureus now, uTorrent seems to have turned on the shit in recent weeks - isn't downloading at any reasonable rate.

You get a MAC code and move to a proper ISP.

I honestly would if I could but I'm blessed to be living in a country with one ISP. Locals have five fucking cars (four if they're poor) but only one ISP in the entire country.

The biggest joke is, they get all their porn from Saudi Arabia.

Your third on my list. Driyo and Garstonite were first but I think I should get 3 invites in 2 weeks time. Just add me on here and remind me when it comes to it.

Due 2 invites in 20 days. Basta Ya is on my list :). You can be second. It can be a christmas gift.

Just donated about £11 and got 20gb of uploads. Great way to keep yourself in the black ratio wise, especially with a slowish connection like mine.

Loads of Horizon. Loads of HIGNFY, QI, Buzzcocks, etc. Pretty much any British sitcom you've ever seen. All the soaps. TheBox is absolutely epic.

Been trying to get Monkey Dust for years, torrent on there with 3 seeders and going at 205kb/s. Just cleared out 80gb ofspace for stuff to download for my christmas toy.

edit - Series 1-5 of Shooting Stars on free leech. I'm in heaven.

Basta Ya already has one :)  I gave them an invite earlier, as I got an extra two today which was a nice surprise.

As always if I get more I'll offer them here.  Good idea to donate btw, I haven't though as I'm stingy.

/And yeah Free Leech is a nice touch ain't it!

Hmmm all 8 series of Knightmare on Free Leech too, very tempting.

Free leech is excellent. They put some really good stuff on it too, stuff you'd actually want.

There's some good Liverpool stuff on there too, including the 501 goals dvd and the 100 greatest moments DVD.

The educational/informational stuff is great too, waiting until the initial leeching dies down and the seeders are established, but the royal institution christmas lectures are up on there, too.

£7 per DVD, or £11 per 20gb, which is the equivalent of what, 17-18 dvds?

I might as well cancel the Virgin media service.

The best torrent site on the internet is Torrentleech.

Fact.

This is true, although it is only good for current stuff. Also, my account lapsed because i didn't use it for too long.

I used torrentscrape last night to find some stuff that I couldn't get on piratebay or the other usual public sites, it's a meta-search engine so you don't have to search separately on isohunt, piratebay etc.

I was on TL last night. They're doing a purge as some have been selling invites previously. There was a notice on the site. Something about inactive accounts and any accounts that were purchased would be deleted.

Also, if someone did buy one, and they admitted it, they would let them stay and ban the seller. Harsh, but fair.

Conor, once the invites are back up, I'll invite you.
