The bookmaking industry is a dirty, greedy and amoral. I don't think that can be disputed. In this day and age of the internet and technology the slyness of it shines through. Online gambling is equally as enticing as it is dangerous and the bookmakers themselves seem to operate in a way that says 'heads we win, tails you lose.'
For myself and others I know if you dare have the audacity to win a bit your account will be restricted or shut down completely. They have zero issue with you losing all of your wages multiple times over, but you dare win a couple of hundred quid off them and they don't like it. It is strange that they operate in such a horrible way because if a bookmaker employs the right people and treats customers with decency and respect then everybody wins. The bookmakers win (most likely) because in the long run with gambling the odds suggest they will. The punter also wins because they are not being taken for granted, they are betting with a firm that is somewhat decent and fair and a win is a win and a loss is a loss. But no, greed and money talks. They want to rinse you for every penny they can and they don't care how they look in the process.
