That fifa article earlier did say:

Match 5 CONMEBOL representatives v. winners M2 or winners M3 (17 December)
Match 6 Winners M2 or winners M3 v. Liverpool FC (18 December)

Our article:

Liverpool and the CONMEBOL representative are already confirmed for the semi-finals, which will take place on December 17 and December 18.

So I am hoping nothing has changed as we land 6pm on the 17th and our site has mentioned the 17th for the CONMEBOL reps.

I was wrong to worry. Still going to wait till draw on 16 September though as flights I’d prefer are Tuesday 17th. Announcement says we could be playing on 17th. Previous assumption was that the semi would be 18th.

Only messing mate - enjoy.

Same mate - Think my flight arrives a few hours after that on the 18th. Be fine I think.

Places you can't go directly to from Doha -
Bahrain
UAE (So Dubai, Abu Dhabi)
Suadi Arabia
Yemen
So rule these out.

The places you can go via a flight:
Kuwait
Oman

Or you can go to the above banned place VIA those 2 - and the same back.

I think I will go to Oman (Muscat) on the 19th/20th - possibly - short flight.

Or enjoy Qatar and a night in the desert.

Went to muscat on a cruise a few years ago for the day , lovely place went on a tour of the grand mosque etc and the guide said the leader of Oman prefers more traditionally over the high rise of some of the other states but nice place to visit if your in the region .

I’ve booked us in the Radisson (4*) for now as it’s got six bars serving ale. There are  5* hotels for cheaper but some are confirmed as dry and Google not clear on the others. Anyone got a list of 5* hotels that defo serve?

To be honest staying at the Radisson (or any 4*) is well above the normal standard for a footy trip. But not often hotels are so cheap and if I can get a 5* that serves for a decent price then why not.

We've got a booking in the Ezdan hotel which looks massive, has a few pools and 'sports bar'.

I'll swap to somewhere else if I find a better one but it looks ok if not

I’ve read it’s about £9 a pint. Probably won’t be getting wellied everyday but I’d like to be able to have a pint if I fancy one.

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/middle-east/qatar-alcohol-price-increase-tax-double-100-per-cent-world-cup-2022-a8706846.html

100% tax on beer, 25% reduction in tax on fuel. So if your partial to a pint of fuel! 😳😜
Happy Hour prices £10, so the ale is going to be very expensive by the looks of it!

This might seem like a silly question? (but here goes!). If you was to upgrade to executive room, do they serve alcohol like they do in other countries?
I've done this in many countries in the likes of Singapore (where it is also very expensive to get a drink) and also Dubai (if I remember correctly in Dubai you did get alcohol in the exec lounge).

Just wondering, Like!

I think so, I have booked club room and on the hotel website it includes evening drinks and canapies (so i'm hoping the evening drinks include alcohol)

In other countries you can ask about their happy hour deals-not sure what they actually call them.
They don’t always advertise it but they serve food (in the bar, not restaurant) and drinks for a set price per day in certain hours. The great thing is when I’ve been away for work this just says food and drink and does not say ‘shitloads of ale and spirits’ when putting your expenses in.
