The Anfield Half time Playlist Thread - Now that's a Tune!!!!
« on: February 28, 2018, 10:05:24 am »
I don't know about you but more often than not I reckon the half time playlist at Anfield is bloody good.  George usually treats us to some cracking tracks from past and present.

I've been meaning to start this thread for years if only as a reminder to download a HT song introduced to me for the first time, or maybe to dig-out some tracks I had long forgotten about.

George usually plays us 3 tracks, and from now on I hope myself and other match going RAWKites who don't bother going for a pie and a pint can try and keep this thread updated after every game and post at least one (hopefully all) of the tunes played during the HT break.

Saturday was an absolute belter when we were treated to three classics

Liverpool v West Ham - 24th February 2018

I remember he played 'Raunchy' by Bill Justis once, it was the song that George Harrison played to Paul and John to impress them on the bus and let him into the band. Great tune.

Usually good stuff at halftime but haven't been for a couple of years so not heard any recently.

George playing Arriverderci Roma at full time in 2001 was his finest hour!

I have it in my head, in the late seventies I heard George play Buzzcocks 'Boredom' from the Spiral Scactch EP and the Pop Groups ' She's beyond good and evil'

Has always regularly played music from Liverpool bands over the years, remember fondly the likes of The La's, Echo and The Bunnymen, The Farm, Pete Wylie, China Crisis and many more.

He's good at playing topical songs is George. Has good taste most of the time too.

Didn't recognise either of the two songs he played at HT on Saturday and the sound quality wasn't very good either. Sort it out George!!

I did hear 'Neat Neat Neat' by The Damned pre-match though so all good :)

He hasn't always had good taste.

Exhibit A: He once played "Joe Le Taxi" by Vanessa Paradis.

He rescued himself somewhat by saying she was releasing a follow up called "Eric The Minibus"

A few wry smiles on the Kop. True story.

Yeah I know mate.  He also played the full length version of that Lad from Cork's Mane/Salah/Coutinho song on Saturday.  He must have had it made into a record FFS.  No way that's getting in this thread. :)

Yep, agree with the above. Nice touch playing Happiness by Doddy :)

2nd HT song was a cover of 'Walk like a Panther' by Rick Astley.  Quite a good song as it happens.

God knows what that 3rd song was. Any ideas?

Ain't go a clue what George played at HT on Saturday but it was some woman warbling on and on that seemed to last the whole HT break.

Fortunately I got in the ground early on Saturday and heard an absolute AC/DC classic from the 'Highway to Hell' Album

Was the last song Bon Scott ever performed live and the band no longer play it on their live sets out of respect for Bon

Very loud yesterday. Great songs before the game. Love the proper Italian version of allez, allez, allez.

However, would love 5-10 minutes of no songs or music for atmosphere to build before teams and YNWA
