Curtis Jones is far too good for this level now.

Needs a loan in January if he isnt getting much 1st team squads.

Pretty good attendance to be fair, mind you we're facing the main stand at this ground, cameras usually in the main stand.

Could've had a had-trick today. Missed two golden chances already this half.

nice little problem to have. but just where does he fit into the team? not as pacy as salah or mane. not as industrious as bobby.

could he be the link from midfield to attack with a bit more output than what the first teamers are contributing?

He strikes me as a Lallana ver 2.0, to be played as an 8 in our side. But yeah, needs more developmental time.

He’s certainly not better than anyone we have in that attacking midfielder position. Or at least he’s not yet and is maybe a couple of loans away from being so.

Would agree

I would also expect Elliott to reach 50 appearances for the first team before Jones (if either do of course)

Think he fits the squad a bit better with him being comfortable in wider positions and will get more chances

Both great talents though but with a loan or two for Jones he may kick on again

If we want to integrate Jones in to the first team we could easily make minutes available next season. He's good enough to get like 900+ minutes

In what position? You’re talking he’d have to take minutes off the likes of Ox, Keita or possibly Origi (and Brewster if he ever gets minutes).

Jones does? McManaman was a much better dribbler of the fall, and probably faster too. Jones is much tougher in the tackle than he was too.

Ideally midfield but wherever he can get them in the front 6. Shaqiri, lallana, milner could be gone, reduce the minutes of henderson/wijnaldum as 8s, dont use the front 3 in every single gane they're not injured for, etc.. 900 minutes would be like 4 cup starts and then 600+ elsewhere. You can easily give that to someone if you want to.

Jones is at his best as a Left Attacking Midfield player.

He has good pace too.

Better talent than Wilson long term imo. Has more to his game.

He is slower than Wilson is, more of a passer and natural dribbler, lesser finisher.

He has more to his game in terms of a future at midfield, which is hopefully where he ends at, he could be considered probably the best talent in our academy.

Jake Cain has impressed me a lot recently, wonderful footballer, can pass, can dribble, can assist can score is left footed as well which is always a bonus.

Lots of youth in the training pics today - Kelleher, Neco, Herbie Kane, Chirivella, Curtis, Rhian and Elliott.  Suspect we will see a lot of them again against Arsenal.  Wonder if Pedro has been registered yet

Really disappointing watching the U18s earlier.  We were at least as good as City for the first half until we face the ball away in the 45th minute.  The same thing early in the second half.  Terrible birthday for Remi with those two errors, but in his defense is was very wet and slippy.  I missed their 3rd and 4th goals but I guess we were still going forward.

Interesting that Neco hasn’t started the U23s at 3.00 pm.  Perhaps he is on the bench for the Cup v Arsenal, or mit even start?  Felt a bit sorry for him when Hoever arrived but Neco is having a good season so far.

Not sure how you can make this statement when Wilson produced at Derby and is currently doing well in the PL plus is an International player.

Jones is a top talent without question but it will be interesting how we decide to develop him this season and next.

He's talking talent not experience, Jones is 4 years younger.

So am I.

Wilson has showcased his talent. Jones time will come but at this stage it's hard to compare his to players that have done it.

Apart from when someone suggests another is a better talent long term as they have more to their game😆
