I haven't seen Trent in any of the photos and videos. Have I missed something about him having time off or being injured? Or just not noticed he was there?

Him and Wilson both stayed home with "minor injuries" - should be fine for charity shield apparently. I'd have thought he'd have travelled anyway if it's minor but there you go.
Rafa Benitez: "I'll always keep in my heart the good times I've had here, the strong and loyal support of the fans in the tough times and the love from Liverpool. I have no words to thank you enough for all these years and I am very proud to say that I was your manager. Thank you so much once more and always remember: You'll never walk alone."

Trent and Wilson both stayed home with slight injuries, the Echo says.

That hotel is 200kms from where I stay.

If I cycle all the way and prove my fitness, maybe I can convince Klopp to give me a trial. I played at a semi professional level until 3 years ago. Got paid about 50 Euros a match. :D

Go for it :D

There was a young vs old training match today in Austria.
https://twitter.com/LFC/status/1296507556102373376?s=19

The young team had none of the stars and won. I guess the idea was younger player of each position plays in the young team.
The younger team had one big advantage they had AB1 between the sticks. What a keeper, he will win no matter which team he plays in.
Hats off to Bill on his throne,
He set the club's standards in stone.
Navigating the storm,
Is the Liverpool norm,

No wonder!! They’ve got 12 players!!
And 7 of the 11 are defenders, with no actual striker! Fair play to how they managed to win with two full backs and five centre halves!
“Seeing these smiling faces is the greatest pleasure. They have been magnificent all season. They have been our 12th man. I have always said our fans are the best in England. Now I know they are the best in Europe too.” Rafa Benitez

Arsenal face Liverpool at a fan-free Wembley on Saturday to kick off England’s 2020-21 campaign, just over 138 hours after the 2019-20 Champions League final.

“Both teams will not be the finished articles,” warned Liverpool’s manager, Jürgen Klopp. “How can we be after two weeks training again?”  Liverpool’s manager Jürgen Klopp does not expect his side to be at their best after only two weeks’ training.

There was a two-minute interlude where Liverpool’s three-man attack squared up against United’s three-man defence and basically stalked them back into their own penalty area, like battle-hardened mountain wolves closing in on a flock of geriatric sheep.  Barney Ronay at Anfield @barneyronay Sun 19 Jan 2020 20.36 GMT
