If we win in Napoli we are pretty much through I think. We would have to lose all of our remaining matches after that I think.

i would be wary of Napoli with a manager like Ancelotti

id jump at 3 home wins and draws in Belgrade and Naples (if the game goes ahead there), not to sound arrogant but i also think we could do even more than that

would be some statement to win in Paris too

Is it just me who thinks that Ancelotti is massively overrated? His Milan and Real sides were pretty classy - while significantly outspending their rivals - but they weren't really any better than you'd expect them to be given the sheer talent at his disposal. His European cups with AC were undoubtedly still an excellent achievement, but when has he really overachieved? He's a manager who, in my view, knows how to get superstars playing well for him, but he's not a tactical innovator and he doesn't really create teams that are greater than the sum of their parts. I'm not saying we'll thrash Napoli or anything - they're still a talented side with a decent manager in one of the toughest stadiums anywhere to travel to - but he's not going to pull off some tactical masterstroke to nullify our gameplan, and I don't think he's going to find any answers if the game starts getting away from his team.
He is the cat who walks by himself, and all roads are alike to him.

We have the opportunity to win six out of six, bag ourselves eighteen points and send out a message to the world about the boys from the Mersey.

Like it although I’d be equally happy with 4/4 and 12 points making the last two games effectively redundant allowing us to focus on the league until the new year

If we're that far ahead, it would be time to use the squad, rotate, save players legs and give an oportunity to some youngsters/fringe players.

i dont think he’s overrated but he is past his peak, still good but not that top tier anymore. PSG Napoli games will be interesting as I do think ancelotti could easily get 4 points from that one

As for the group, win the next three and we qualify regardless.

PSG v Red Star Belgrade: 'Match-fixing' inquiry into 6-1 Champions League win

French authorities are investigating potential match-fixing in Paris St-Germain's 6-1 Champions League win over Red Star Belgrade this month.

An official at the Serbian club placed a bet of almost 5m euros (£4.3m) that Red Star would lose by five goals, French newspaper L'Equipe has reported.

I think the only logical course of action here is to disqualify PSG from the competition and liquidate the club entirely. With weapons grade plutonium, preferably.

There should also be a draft on their players. Priority is based on last year’s CL performance.

Real Madrid takes Neymar.  We’ll begrudgingly take Mbappe I guess.

How much did the bookies have to pay out? You can also bet your 5 million Euros that they'll want justice done if anything dodgy occurred, and then UEFA will have to listen.

At a guess, the biggest penalty that will occur is that the Red Star guy will get a lifetime ban from involvement with football.

There must have been some serious odds on that result, and unless you're a multi-billionaire, NOBODY takes a chance with several million Euros on a bet!

Liverpool have confirmed they will offer a portion of Red Star Belgrade’s unused ticket allocation for next week’s Champions League meeting at Anfield to fans aged between 17-21.

Happily, this means the Reds will have an all-Liverpool crowd for the tie - with the away section helping young fans with no previous European credits get a taste of the famous Anfield atmosphere.

“Engaging young fans and giving them the chance to come to Anfield has been a priority for us in recent seasons,” chief executive officer Peter Moore said.

“The fact that we have the away allocation to use for home supporters is a unique opportunity at Anfield and we wanted to find a way for young fans to benefit from this additional allocation.

“We all know how special European nights are at Anfield so we’re delighted to make some of these tickets available to young supporters who may be experiencing it for their first time.”

Neymar was quiet in the game at Anfield but when he did show that bit of quality we got punished.

The cynic in me thinks both will be starting midweek as they can miss the league game at the weekend being 13 points clear.

PSG are shady AF so i reckon this was orchestrated because i cannot fathom both being injured on the same evening as some freak occurrence, They will have a 7-8 day rest now for our game.

They will be playing.

They rotate for their league games before Champions League fixtures, they did so the last time we faced them and probably will do so again. They have a home game against a side in the lower half so expect them to be well rested. Both injuries have been somewhat downplayed so nobody will be surprised to see them starting against us.

It’s the Messi/Ronaldo effect. They are the standard to which others are compared. Neymar is class, probably in the top three offensive players in the world outside those two but because he isn’t scoring twos and threes every week, there’s the outgoing doubt from various perfectionists.

also because he spends 70% of the game on his arse feigning injury i think. if he just got up and carried on like Messi rather than acting like a twat he would be highly rated. I would prefer him not to play us as he is a fine footballer - that said i rate Mbappe as more dangerous

Didn't see the Neymar injury but Mbappe landed heavily on his shoulder, went off for treatment, came back on but had to be subbed as you could see he was struggling (looked similar to Salah actually).

also because he spends 70% of the game on his arse feigning injury i think. if he just got up and carried on like Messi rather than acting like a twat he would be highly rated. I would prefer him not to play us as he is a fine footballer - that said i rate Mbappe as more dangerous
