Why is Stephane suspended?

<< < (2/2)

stoz:
The only place I seen it was the official site. Just wonder if they got it wrong? After all, anyone who has in the past read the match programme or official magazine will know that Liverpool FC publications are not exactly renowned for their accuracy.

I'm sure at one stage I was worried because Sami was on four bookings and could have possibly missed the Newcastle or Chelsea game

Anthony:
I've found an article prior to last season which seems to support your idea...

--- Quote ---Accumulated bookings: Players with a total of five bookings by the end of February will receive a one-match ban. Those given 10 yellow cards by the second Sunday in April will get a further two-match ban. A three-match ban comes into force for 15 cautions and a four-game suspension for 20 bookings.

Haven't found anything relating to this season - maybe the dates have changed...

Anthony:
I've gone for professional help!

--- Quote ---What are the dates for the accumulated bookings rule this season? I have heard reports that Stephane Henchoz will be suspended for one match after being booked for the 5th time against Boro, but that was on 16th March and I thought the 5 bookings rule finished at the end of February (as in http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport/hi/english/football/newsid_852000/852841.stm from last season)

ttnbd:
