However when you are torrenting it is hard to avoid sharing completely (and against the spirit of the whole thing but that's another story).

A download site that I had been using for ages stopped working for my main browsers (IE, Firefox etc.) so I got Opera and turned on the built-in VPN and it worked fine. I understand that its not really a proper VPN but a proxy but works for me.

TOR is an option that I beilieve does hide your IP but havent used it apart from having a nose when it first became a thing.

Yeah it's good,rarely drops out and you have unlimited connections.

One of my sisters has a place in Portugal and I have said to bring her laptop home to the UK and I will sort out a VPN for her to watch the usual stuff. I will go with a free trial or limited time offer to first give it a try and see what see thinks before committing.
Will it matter if I set it up here and then she takes it back to Portugal to use and would I be better using her card details to purchase a VPN ?
I was going to say bring her router with her and I will install a VPN on her router but I think I'm better walking before I can run as I assume that is more complex.

She doesn't need to bring the laptop,just sign her up for Digibit and she can download the app and be up and running,it's only £2pm and you can cancel anytime so it's a good one for her to try & they have dedicated servers for the iPlayer,never used them myself and haven't used digibit for ages but it was always spot on when I did.

Also it won't matter which card you use or where you set it up,that goes for all of them.

I think it's a must have tool these days. I use doublevpn that covered with two servers instead of one which is also known as VPN chaining. The traffic goes to remote VPN server and leaves it fully encrypted. It provides a high level od security

Unlimited connections sounds great.

Currently with PIA but my deal finishes in march and Surfshark look like a good alturnative. PIA not got a great rep with logs/privacy etc.

Anyone use SS for torrenting / Iptv with firesticks Pcs/ phones?

You need to subscribe to a service which offers ESPN plus as a option and that service may or may not need a VPN.

Thanks, I'm going to subscribe to ESPN but I believe it only works in the US.

Yeah you're best off getting a Real Debrid account and linking it to an app like CinemaHD

Prices are up, again, and for 2022/23 it'll be about £65 a month to see Premier League where I live.

Plus about £40 for Champions League.

I'll give VPN and a foreign subscription service a go now. Mostly to take some sort of stand agains the soaring prices.

Asking for a friend here. A very good friend of mine occasionally visits the popular website pornhub. He accesses it on his Samsung tablet, but lately he says he is unable to view it but instead gets directed to VPN which he doesn't know anything about and doesn't trust it either as it looks like they'd like payments.
Is anyone able to offer some help so I can pass it on ? Thanks in advance.

Just invest in a trusted VPN (Virtual Private Network) and don't buy one off a link from pornhub!!!

If you're unsure what a VPN is then it's basically a technology that encrypts your internet traffic and protects your online identity, it'll also hide your IP address and shield your online data and activity from third parties and your ISP. So when ~~you~~ your friend is browsing these types of sites, switch your VPN on and your ISP won't be able to see what sites you're visiting!!

Keep an eye on hotukdeals as VPN deals are often posted there. I got a lifetime sub for VPN unlimited for about £20.

Off to Amsterdam for the F1 this weekend but hoping to watch our game on my phone. Have signed up for a 7 day free trial with ExpressVPN. Will I be able to watch via Skygo using it and do I need to set the server to a UK one?

I had mixed results when I was away the other week, I was using Windscribe and VPN Unlimited though. SkyGo seems to be the one app that has issues with many VPN providers. I only tried to use it a few times and it worked fine at first, but then the next time I tried it wouldn't work. Tried connected to different Servers and eventually got one that worked, but then later on it stopped working and said something about not available in your location. iPlayer, Netflix all worked fine. Makes me think that Sky are on the ball and are actively trying to stop SkyGo usage via VPN.

Cheers. I guess I’ll just have to wait and see but not the end of the world if it doesn’t work, don’t even know what kind of signal there’ll be at Zandvoort as it’s right by the coast.

What does everybody recommend for a vpn? Could do with a cheap one ideally, also will be happy to share a connection with somebody after I have it if anyone needs one
