Yeah, this alone rules out Disappointment of the Season

That was one of the funniest moments of the season, Everton were 2-0 up in the 92nd minute[a lot of the Ev fans had departed early ;D], Newcastle had pulled one back from a corner, which Pickford came out for & couldn't reach, cross ricocheted off a defender to a Newcastle player who slotted home, then that a minute later, & what made it even more funny Pickford shouting at his defenders over it in the aftermath. :lmao

The Cruyff turn. The Panenka penalty.

Near the beginning of our game today Kepa dives for a shot after it was behind him practically,  and was well wide. Lee Dixon called it the Pickford Dive.

I like it.

My favourite Pickfordism (if that isn't a word, then it is now), is either making a completely routine save, then screaming and shouting at no one in particular, and doing the same screamy shouty thing when he makes a howler, he's a rare breed of human.

He did call him strange once, one of the games against Belgium in the world cup I think?

Also slagged him off for laughing after conceding against city, don't think the ev were too bothered though

Roy keane was dead right about him

when he fucked up against united last year. sky try to make excuse of the ball dipping, with that it actually got closer to pickford and he still didnt save it

"the ball moved"

Keane "of course it moves when people kick it"

"we said before the game hes not a good keeper"

souness "but hes the england keeper"

Keane "i dont care, he is not a good keeper"

nail on head from keane

I'm all for having a laugh at the Blues as a collective for having what appears to have the potential to be a serious handbrake on their ambitions in their side, and I've nothing against having a laugh at the Pickford scenario in the match/league threads and with mates, etc, but I wonder if we should perhaps be better than having a 39-page thread dedicated to this topic - or at least the laughter at an individual's expense aspect of it?  Yes, lots of Everton fans are concerned and want rid; yes, Pickford's own demeanour does his reputation no good; yes, the results of his errors offer us amusement; and, yes, critique is fair enough.

I'm reminded of a few interviews from last year, about footballers 'hearing' the abuse - Luke Chadwick and Peter Crouch spring to mind - and how it affected their mental health.

Just wonder if the joke's gone on for long enough now...?

Err, let me think about that.. No

Its a piss take thread based on his ability as a goalkeeper playing at the highest level and he keeps dishing up moments that make us piss ourselves laughing. He doesn't come on here and read it, so it won't affect him.

I've suffered mental health problems and if I thought what I wrote on here affected him, then I'd stop. However it doesn't, so I won't.

He remains that kid in school who the other kids are wary of and stay away from because of his skiddies. The one that could suddenly run around the playground with his tongue out and hitting people. Would be described as a "bit minty" and would nick your matchbox cars right in front of you.

You hear about them from time to time as an adult. Either, "oh didn`t you hear." and it turns out they're inside for something very odd.....or they're a nutter CEO of a big company and you can`t wrap your head round how.

Every school had one. The minty nutter.

I'm pretty sure Dominic Cummings fits the minty nutter bill to a tee.

Well when he was slagging off Allison for making mistakes he wouldn’t make, I’m sure he said to himself,
“I wonder if this criticism of a fellow professional is unkind or even unwarranted.”
Making yourself out to be some sort of wonder keeper is setting yourself up for stick when you make a mistake like The Divock Derby.
