Three other sides have lost their first five games: Sunderland (05/06), Portsmouth (09/10) and Sunderland (05/06). Only Southampton stayed up. Portsmouth are the only side to have lost their first seven.

Oh dear oh dear Palace... it's Sunderland last season all over again, except it's worse. 5 games, no points, no goals. I'd like to think that this run of form, combined with the Owl at the helm, is something akin to karma for that fucking 3-3 draw.

Palace could quite easily end up losing their first 8 - their next 3 league games are City, United and Chelsea
