Yep, the American version of Definitely Maybe had Whatever on it as a bonus track.

Sad Song made it on to the LP release of Definitely Maybe as a bonus track, just not on to the CD release. Though I think I recall browsing through the imports in HMV once upon a time and saw it on one of the Japanese or Chinese versions of it.

Though as far as LP bonus tracks and Oasis go, you can't beat Bonehead's Bank Holiday :)

True that too.

Btw. talking about Oasis rare tracks, 'Bonehead´s Bank Holiday', anyone ever heard that one? It´s on the vinyl version of WTMG as a bonus track.

speaking of rare tracks, anyone heard 'I Can See It Now' i think it was released on the japanese version of dont believe the truth, i think it's fuckin brilliant, even though its just mostly an instumental...though ye need to play it LOUD to get the full effect of it, kind of like a rousing slower version of Mucky fingers that builds up as it goes along

ill upload it when i get home, it was one of the tracks oasis worked on with death in vegas before those songs were scrapped, as is the 'Lord Dont Slow Me Down' tune, would love to hear wht the others were like.

Rubbishly brilliant!

Was meant to be sung by Bonehead (homage to Ringo songs by The Beatles), but Noel sings it instead. Pretty much nonsense lyrics about needing to get away for a holiday.

Laced with background noise of the band pissed up and ends with a drunk Liam and Bonehead singing/reading it in West Country accents. . . .

I always thought 'Angel Child' was a crackig tune that deserved a proper recording.  Having said that maybe it was it's fragility as a demo that made it such a good listen?

One of the great acoustic b-sides. You just have to pick up your guitar and start strumming every time you hear it.

One of my favourite B sides is Step out tonight, can't remember what single it was on. Bit cheesy and the lyrics aren't best but quality tune.

Also good idea having this forum. I will try and upload a picture I took a couple of years ago. Best picture i have ever taken, got it framed above my bed...

"Youve got the heart of a star" & "Ciggaretts in hell" are also 2 examples of oasis B-sides that outclass most of the shite on the radio and the charts. Noel is the most consistent song writer of the last 12 years without doubt.

Im another to be honest who thinks that some of the greatest Oasis songs have been B-Sides.

Half the world away
Its good to be free
Acquiesce (one of their best songs IMO
The Masterplan (another of the best)
D'Ya wanna be a spaceman
Round are way
Fade Away (although prefer the slower version found on the Help CD, pretty sure an actor / celeb played the guitar for this one  but might be wrong
Alive
Cloudburst

And finally, in my opinion the best of the lot

Rockin Chair
"I'm older than I wish to be
This town holds no more for me
All my life I try to find another way
I don't care for your attitude
You bring me down I think you're rude
All my life I try to make a better day

It's hard enough being alone
Sitting here by the phone
Waiting for my memories
To come and play"

fuckin love that song

Goin back to Fade Away.

One of the lads in work reckons it wasnt on the "Help" album, it was on an album called Warchild.

He also reckons its Johnny Depp playin guitar, with Kate Moss providing backing lyrics. Cant find anythin on google, anyone know if he's full of shit or not?

FADE AWAY

When I was young
I thought I had my own key
I knew exactly what I wanted to be
Now I'm sure
You've boarded up every door

Lived in a bubble
Days were never ending
Was not concerned
About what life was sending
Fantasy was real
Now I know much
About the way I feel

I'll paint you the picture
'Cause I don't think you live round here no more
I've never even seen
The key to the door
We only get what we will settle for

While we're living
The dreams we have as children
Fade away
While we're living
The dreams we have as children
Fade away
While we're living
The dreams we have as children
Fade away, away, away
They fade away, away, away

Now my life has turned
Another corner
I think it's only best
That I should warn you
Dream it while you can
Maybe someday I'll make you understand

I'll paint you the picture
'Cause I don't think you live round here no more
I've never even seen
The key to the door
We only get what we will settle for

While we're living
The dreams we have as children
Fade away
While we're living
The dreams we have as children
Fade away
While we're living
The dreams we have as children
Fade away
They fade away, away, away
Fade away, away, away

The rock version of Fade Away (one of my favourite Oasis songs) was just a B-Side, I think for Cigarettes and Alcohol, and an acoustic version was on the Warchild album sung by Noel rather than Liam. And as far as I know Patsy Kensit did the backing vocals. Oh, and Johnny Depp played slide guitair on Fade In Out, not Fade Away.
