I think we all know this but Koulibaly is a great defender and was a big part of why we had little joy in Naples.  Yes we didn’t play well but he was super composed and a rock for them.  I don’t think anyone should be thinking this will be easy.

I don't think I've seen more than 5 minutes of Napoli outside of our game in Naples.  And all I really remember from that game is their midfield just destroying our midfield  which then made it impossible to get the ball to our forwards and was by far the worst Klopp offensive performance in his LFC career.  So let's not do that again.

Yep, and Ancelotti is too canny for this to be easy, and Koulibaly is superb in defence. It’s going to be a tough ask. They only need to score one goal to make it 3 times as hard.

There were so many factors in that though, the pitch, Naby off injured, Ancelotti mugging Klopp tactically, them being at home and right up for it vs us having played Chelsea twice in the last week, with City in 3 days.

And they still only knicked a late one.

Klopp won't get mugged again, we're at home, we've played two easy fixtures in the last week. The Anfield surface will let us get through their midfield.  If the crowd is up for it from the kickoff we go through, especially as i think Ancelotti comes looking for an early goal and the crowd will need to get the team through that.

I remember watching him when he first joined Napoli and he looked like Bambi on ice at times. He's a class defender now, was made up United didn't get any where near him in the summer, although if Mourinho got his hands on him he'd probably turn shite.

Napoli are unbeaten in the CL.

Very well organised side and they outplayed PSG home and away.

This will be a very difficult match but not sure many Italian teams travel that well and certainly do not like games played physically or quickly.

Don't think we were outplayed by them last time but Ancelotti exposed our weaknesses and we were quite lethargic playing into their hands. I wouldn't mind Salah and Mane swapping flanks more. Keita has to play for me and give us energy and drive from midfield.

If you think beating them 1-0, knowing that if they score at any moment then we need 2 is going to be drama and fuss free, then you’re mental.

Realistically if this is to be no fuss, no drama, we need at least a 3 goal lead. Ideally a 4 goal lead because if they pull one back at 3-0 then they only need one more.

I think if you were ranking each team in Europe currently I think it'd be fair to say that Napoli are arguably one of the top 10 club sides.

Doesn't mean we can't beat them but they are a very good. Luckily we are too. Can't see this being a game where we smash them. If anything I think 1-0 to us is the most likely scoreline we progress with.

Hadn’t thought of that actually. They definitely aren’t with any official travel agency or of the sort.

We change at Birmingham and get in to Liverpool around 2, so they’re definitely getting there well early.

Will let Merseyside police know that there’s a fairly disruptive bunch coming in to Canning Place after lunch-time. Can see them causing a fair bit of trouble, although a couple of them have dozed off now due to the early start.
