That's got to the shortest ever 'Sport's personality of the Year' competition. Surprised they didn't just hand him the trophy there and then. Doubt Cooky will go longer than 2/1 all year now.

I didn't think I'd ever see England play better cricket than they did in the 2005 Ashes but they've surpassed that in this series. The attack dismissing the Aussies for under 300 on several occasions and likewise with the batters regularly scoring over 450.

Medal missed for Cooke, no Champagne at all.

Very poor indeed

Hey, don't forget the perspex bat.
It looks to me as if we have signed another 'average' player. I'll hold back my complete opinion until I see the lad play

Hey, don't forget the perspex bat.

Don't expect them to enjoy it or join in.

A bit of class would be good though, and to properly congratulate a team that are streets ahead.

Cricket Australia are classless.

What a series! England played fantastic and to think in Brisbane we were all a bit worried! Brilliant effort by the lads and its times like this that really make it worthwhile living in Australia! ;)

England looked a street ahead since landing over there.

Very classy preparation, planned to the last minute detail, and they were as one with the Army, almost one team there as well.

No accident this.

In such a cramped schedule, injuries are bound to hit both camps. England are in serious strife if they lose any of their first XI. There's a vast gulf between their top-tier players and those on the standby list. Australia can only hope and pray that off-spinner Monty Panesar is called in for Graeme Swann. Australia have eight Test-standard speedsters in the queue.

Yes they forgot to do the medal. Its probably because we wanted to disrespect your entire country because we cant believe we lost.

Jaysus, it really says that ?

Serious strife is indeed where England were headed, who to chose ?

Test standard speedsters - perhaps a misprint should be speedos.

No idea. Its nuts but he got his start in limited overs cricket, though now I couldn't think of a worse limited overs bowler. Fast enough for batsman to use his pace but not fast enough to compensate for his total inaccuracy.

No we are shit. Half our side don't deserve to be there.

That being said, you guys are an excellent team, deserved to belt us like you did and if we had put a decent side out there probably still would have won. At least it would have been a contest though.

To be fair bar Hussey, Siddle and Watson. Each of whom had their bad days too, the senior players who have played in this series have been absolute dog shite and it's not going to help any of the youngsters that were blooded at all. It's horrid from the top (selectors) to the bottom (johnson). You could do with taking notes from how things evolved post 2006 to early 2009 for England and how we went through Pedalos, Moores and KP to get to where we are now. Lots of lessons to be learned, let's see how your limited abilities team do from now till the WC
