Just walked thru Stanley Park on my way to work and she's sleeping, snoring like an old man with her mouth moving! Her dog is black and on her lap.

This is what I saw earlier:

I want to adopt the dog, it's brilliant.  Star of the show, for me.

Just taken a couple of hundred shots, but I've not got time to edit them now, as I'm off to town for the second half of the show.

Here's some selected highlights.

Doesnt half wreck my head listening to people spouting how its a waste of money.

Kids love it and look to be enjoying it so looks like a good day out for families so that really should be enough.

But if the figures of 25000 people visiting to see it then im pretty sure it will be worth it.

Planning on seeing it on sunday at the docks looks like a nice day out.

This article from the Post might calm some of the moaners down...doubt it though

 Sea Odyssey little girl giant
LIVERPOOL’S Sea Odyssey is expected to generate a £12m boost to the city’s economy making it the most lucrative arts event since Capital of Culture year.

At least 250,000 people are forecast to attend the city’s biggest ever outdoor event, which begins with a 30ft little girl giant waking up in Stanley Park tomorrow morning.

Advance hotel bookings for April 20-22 have increased by 12% compared to the same weekend last year – believed to be due to the three-day piece of street theatre.

Ged Fitzgerald, Liverpool City Council’s chief executive, said the projected £12m boost – at least £2m more than 2008’s ‘Spider’ – demonstrated the importance of large scale events to the local economy, particularly during financially challenging times.

He said: “When times are hard you have to choose – you can keep plodding along or decide to be ambitious and keep moving forward so Liverpool continues to be talked about in a creative and positive way. You have got to keep reinventing the city culturally. If you don’t do that you risk the city being stuck in 2008 or even the 60s.”

It has cost around £1.5m to put on Sea Odyssey, paid for by a mix of public and private funding.

Around £400,000 represents Liverpool’s last tranche of Capital of Culture legacy funding, with a third of the total sum coming from public bodies, including Arts Council England and Merseytravel, and a similar figure from the private sector, including outsourcing firm Enterprise.

A national and international marketing campaign has helped to draw worldwide attention to Sea Odyssey, said Mr Fitzgerald.

Wow wow and wow! Thought the spider was good but that today was immense and it's still going on! The girl was amazing, the dog really was life like and the physical effort by them blokes to get the uncle walking so realistically was bordering on herculean, they'll all be sleeping well tonight I reckon and av got a great video clip of the dog having a piss on Walton Lane ;D

And did anyone get onto the DJ cutting in with YNWA ever now and again? Boss that DJ ;D

Question - Does anyone know how to re-size photies from a phone so I can post them? Even by my usual crap standards these are half decent.
Much appreciated if you could PM and let me know.

Yeh got the start of YNWA Chopper, only the opening bars though

We were down the dock for the Uncle waking up today, the effort to get that walking was huge, then nearly got stamped on when it took an unexpected turn left on the strand while the red chest got lifted out the water. Caught up with it later on on Tithebarn St, and they stopped to sit him on the chest so at least they got some rest!

Then this evening just seen the dog and girl coming through Queens Square bus station. Certainly brought the crowds out today and I reckon they'll only grow over the weekend.

Eldest lad loved it, really enjoyed seeing Uncle Giant being lifted out of the water and then being so close as it walked along the Strand. Youngest lad fell asleep as we got off the train, then woke up to see a 50ft giant, band playing, people promoting Shiverpool, and a lambanana in his face. Think he thought it was all a bad dream.

In the corridors and changing rooms of Anfield I met many people - the great, the talented, the legendary.  I know that I only met one genius.  He was a small, smiling man with a neatly clipped beard.  His name was Rafael Benitez.

Absolutely brilliant went down the Albert Dock this afternoon to see the uncle arrive and followed him all the way towards the superlambanana and then back to St Georges Hall to see the girl walk past lime street. Will try and post photos later. Definitely going to see them again.
