Heading over for that weekend, would it be worth it? Have to convince 3 other lads.

I don't know why anyone would need convincing. 3 members of DX are going to be there!

I'll go solo if I can't convince them

Went to a strip club near to Matthew Street about six years ago that was under a pub, went during the day and it was quality. Cant remember is name but it cost £7.50 to get in and that included a dance.
Any ideas if its still open and what the name is ?

All depends on your taste. People say avoid concert square but if your all 30 odd you'll probably have a laugh and will easily avoid trouble if you want to. Walkabout, BaaBar, Heebie Jeebies are all around there and a decent laugh. Krazyhouse too if your up for a laugh.

Heading over to see the match v Bolton on 27th August with the girlfriend. Bit of a birthday treat from her. We have places to eat sorted. Probably going to go for Red Hot Buffet and then Viva Brazil. Not very familiar with bars in the City though so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Looking somewhere cool with a nice vibe, music doesn't really matter too much. We're staying at Malmaison down by prince's dock so as long as its not a million miles from there. Any recommendations guys? Cheers!

Heebies, La'go, Popworld, Mojo and Baa Bar are a few of my favourites.  Love heebies on a student night, think it's one of the best in my opinion.
I think Envi isn't that bad, but i wouldn't go there before like 3am when all other places are closing as it's open till about 5am and its not too far to walk to get some food or a taxi afterwards.
I cannot stand the Krazy house though.  Used to go there loads when i was underage just because it was the easiest place to get into in town.  But now i can go other places i realise how shite it was and how full of knobheads it is as well.  Not to mention how disgusting the floor is.

If you are going with the lady i would take her to some "nicer" bars. Few down the Docks, Palm Sugar in L1, Alma de Cuba, Peacock, Reform etc.

Yeah I'm thinking more along the lines of trendier bars that do cocktails and stuff maybe. Which of those would fit that bill. Cool with a nice vibe I'm thinking. Somewhere u can get a seat and chill rather than somewhere to boogie the night away. Defo no scallies lol!

Another question. What bar would you recommend for a pint or two before the game. Always went to the Albert but haven't been over to a match in a few years due to distance/mortgage/bills etc. Think the Albert might be a bit rowdy for the missus lol but I guess all the bars near the ground will be more or less the same on a matchday?

Was in Alma De Cuba 35 years ago, getting christened when it was a church St Peter's, if you go near the back the altar is still there it was restored when Alma De Cuba was opened. It was derelict for years.

Hey All!

I feel like a tourist posting this (in actual fact, I guess I am), but around 5 of us lads were looking to have a night out in Liverpool after the Norwich match in October and I'd appreciate advice on what bars are worth going to?

Somewhere a bit upmarket is fine as expenses are covered!

Thanks

Depends what your into, birds/music tastes etc, if your into 80s retro and old dogs than Matthew Street, if your into Student birds and chilled gaffs, the top end - Hardman Street - Hannahs is a good place.

Heading down tomorrow for the Swansea game with my brother and staying overnight as I bought him a ticket for his Birthday ages ago. Just me and him going and staying overnight at an apartment. Was just wondering if anyone could recommend a club that plays "good" house music ( i.e Woflgang Gartner, Deadmau5, etc, etc, )

Read through most of this topic and still knid of undecided about Concert Square. I'm 31 and brothers 27, want to avoid any scallie troublemakers as can't afford to get into trouble. Think I might have to avoid Concert Square like the plague. Mathew St. sounds like the place to be. Any advice appreciated.

Hopefully the scouse girls quite like the Scots accent, lol !!!

Just wear your kilt (in the Scottish manner), and you'll be fine all night.

Can't answer your questions on which club, as these days I'm considered an old fart, and only drink in arl fella ale pubs. :wave

Don't be totally put off by Concert square, or surrounding areas.  YES. There's an extaordinary high number of pricks drink in that area, but at the same time, there's some great bars, with no problems at all,  and even a little further a field ie: within about 1000-2000 yards there's some fantastic traditional pubs where there's never any problems, and people of all ages, from 18-60+

Concert square - you just have to pick the right bars..... or more aptly, don't pick the wrong ones.

Liverpool is a great party city.  One of the best, and generally, if you keep yourelf to yourself you won't get any hassle.

Been down to Anfield about +10 times but never actually been out at night in the City so really looking forward to it. Also coming down for the Newcastle game and staying down the Friday & Saturday night for New Year at Mount Pleaseant Apts. Hopefully New Years celebrated down there as it is in Scotland. A big fucking hell yeah, lol  :) !!!

Might have to hire a Kilt for that one as it's a good reason to wear one + it's a guaranteed score with some girl  :o :o :o !!!

Don't be totally put of concert square. I have not had a hint of trouble there myself. Modo is class full of filth and good music, also try Revoultion up the road (the St. Peters square one) and Alma de cuba.

I like a bit of Garlands clubwise but be warned i went up there at 1.30am last Sat/Sun morn and the queue was 100's in length so we did one.

Think the owners been done for something IIRC but he owns Heebies too and a few others.

edit: here you go from the rattle

Mystery today surrounded the future of iconic Liverpool bar The Jacaranda, best known for being the first venue to host The Beatles.

The Jacaranda, in Slater Street, was in darkness last night amid rumours the popular city nightspot had closed its doors for good.
But owner Graham Clarke refused to confirm to the ECHO why the premises was closed.
Mr Clarke also owns several city centre bars including The Masque, The Peacock and Heebie Jeebies, all of which are open.
It is understood the Jacaranda was last open on Sunday but has been closed during the rest of the week.
Staff and customers at neighbouring bars could not shed any light on the closure of the popular hangout.
But a source close to the venue told the ECHO staff at the Jacaranda were suddenly informed it would close.
The bar has a rich history linked with The Beatles. It was founded in 1957 by Allan Williams, the Fab Four’s first manager and “the man who gave them away”.
Williams leased an old watch repair shop which he converted into a coffee bar.
He named the venue the Jacaranda after an exotic species of ornamental flowering tree
