Ashamed to say that I can't remember, but I think it's Grove Terrace.
Can't find it now. I think it was knocked down to build slums!

Thanks!   The pic was taken by Charlie Crane, at the time he was the singer with a band called The Cryin' Shames and it was outside his tenement flat.

Yep, when I was a kid I used to get on it to go to my grans in Norris Green and to school at Old Swan Tech and later on to go to work in Speke

The 68 is crazy.

I remember bunkin on the 61 when i was little with about 100 other school kids, the driver decided to stop off at the police station. All the guilty people ran off the bus scared! Obviously I stayed on - innocent  ;)

As a kid me and my mates used to live on the 61 route and one day we got it from Aigburth through to Seaforth and back just for a grin. Better laugh than a day in Southport.

There was still one of those old types (Routemaster) running as 61 or 68 up Rose lane in the 70's and as a H1 which we used to get to Hale to go fishing.

Fuckin hell I'm getting old.

Colin Wilkinson (Bluecoat Press) has started a blog and he's aiming to post a rare pic a day of Liverpool.

Worth book-marking and checking daily I reckon,

Brilliant them. How quiet were the roads then?

I know, desolate in some cases.

Not sure how this one will translate - but I found it interesting - it's from the same Yo site and is of 'the barracks, West Derby 1934' although at first glance it looked older to me.

I'm trying to figure out where that is or was in West Derby Village.
I'm guessing that it might have been round the back near the old police station(I'm talking the early 60's here) or perhaps off the little side street by the Chinese Laundry and the tiny Tesco back then.? Anyone any ideas?

Nice couple of links Gulley, cheers.

That first one you can get lost in for hours, just a pity it won't let you enlarge (don't try, it sends you back to the home page).

The second one I thought was great, never come across that one before.

Just enter Liverpool streets in the search and it returns 9000+ hits (not all pics, but the vast majority).

They are brilliant mate, how the city has exploded. There's so much to comment on and I'm only 2/3rds through them.

One thing though about the pic of the Serpentine in Cressington, I don't think they were 20 odd years apart - the trees give that away.
