The missus and I have been trying to enlarge our portfolio recently so have done a bit of eating out;
The Good:
Bacchus Greek Taverna - delicious authentic Greek, moussaka immense. Been a few times, always a winner. Great value with cheap booze.
Amalia Italian - Greek value pizzas and pasta, good portions. Didn't take cards the last couple of times I went though so had to legit to the nearest ATM
Sanskruti Indian -vegan and vegetarian. Delicious and you don't miss the meat. Good value too.
The Quite Good:
La Vina Tapas - Decent menu with specials daily. As with all tapas, some winners, some not so good. Probably a 3.5/5. Live music on Friday / Saturday which is cool.
Red's True BBQ - Massive portions, decent value, a must for the rib / chicken / beef combo hounds. Good cider too.
Fazenda - Huge salad bar with everything and a Brazilian style meat rolling delivery service. Variety of meat was ok but lots of sausage and chicken coming round, not so much rare fillet / sirloin.
The Poor: (My opinion)
Meet Argentinian - Great steaks but everything else rank. Veg, starters and salad were overcooked / wilted and prepared hours in advance or straight from a packet. A conveyor belt style restaurant which puts style over substance.
Chamber 36 - No, no, no. Tasted as though it came frozen from Iceland; nothing authentic at all and expensive for what it was.
A special mention for the Waterloo Place Cafe in Crosby, tremendous bacon sarnies and coffee, for the next morning.
