I think there was two bars pumping out music. I think the festival use to be better without the bars . Music coming from all directions creates a weird vibe . I think the festie needs to get more roots artists on again.
Definitely mate, it felt like you had to get really close to one source of music for your ears to understand what was being played which is at times impossible when you`ve got a crowd that big. As good as Oye is and a great advert for our City it felt like it`s getting a bit too big for it`s own good with emphasis on quantity, would you agree (or am I being picky for what is essentially a free festival!)?
I like to sit with my mrs, mates, kids etc at things like this, have a laugh, get into the music and have a dance with the kids but it didn`t feel like you could do that this time, just felt like there was too much going on all at the same time.
Out of all the festivals they have in Sevvie - LIMF, Oye, Food and Drink, the best day I`ve had in recent years was the food and drink last year with the tent in the middle playing live music. We got there early, perched up not far from the tent, enough space around to move about and danced all day, or once the ale starting kicking in from early afternoon.
