The stadium is in a bad shape though mate, needs major renovations. That's why both AC and Inter are moving and the stadium being flattened.

Was going to say, this will be the first and last time we play them there. They’re knocking it down.

Would leave almost everyone who started v Wolves back in Liverpool

Kelleher
Williams-Konate-Phillips-Tsimikas
Ox-Henderson-Morton
Minamino-Jota-Origi

Henderson & Jota both off on 45/60 etc.
Gomez & Keita off the bench if possible

Every victory lands a team €2.8m
I've been here during the bad times,we finished second once.

Which is nice but Jota's injury last season most likely cost us far, far more than that.

I'd expect quite a few of the squad playing at the weekend to not even travel.

                    Kelleher

Williams   Konate   Gomez    Tsimikas

     Morton      Milner(c)    Keita

Origi          Minamino        Ox

With the subs being kids. Henderson might travel as Captain, and possibly play 60 mins at the very most.

Did the stadium tour at the San Siro a couple years back. Great, imposing old building - a real footballing castle but the signs of wear and tear both inside and outside are so clear. Even the players changing rooms aren’t far off something you’d expect at your local Sunday league team.

Nou Camp is the same. Both still got the grandeur but they're very dated.

25 years ago they were the best grounds in Europe along with the Bernabeu (which is less dated but currently getting a major renovation).

The new stadiums built in the last 20 years, and time itself, have left them behind.

Mythological places - a pleasure to visit but they belong to the 1980s in their current state. The San Siro has damp, decaying walls, crumbling blocks and the outside is an absolute mess too. We’ve done well to renovate Anfield over the past few years.

I know it's worth a couple of million if we win, but the risk to our short-term and long-term fitness as well as the possible impact to our Premier League standing giving the December crunch of games, I would rotate heavily and have the following 11 starting for this game.

Kelleher
Neco-Gomez-Konante-Tsimikas
Keita-Morton-Ox
Minamino-Origi-Jota
Raúl barely had a kick. The nearest he got to greatness was when he shook Gerrard by the hand.   Times - Mar 10,2009.

Come on Redmen!!
Thanks for the memories PIM. Interesting that Klopp said those coming back from injury are likely to come on as subs. Guess this will be Joe and Naby. Hence Konate and Nat seem likely to start. He also inferred at least one of the usual front three likely to start , presumably alongside Taki and Divock.
Still hope to see a win but wonder if a draw is more likely?

Playing the same 11 Wednesday/Saturday gives us a good indication of how we'll treat Tuesday. The fact we played a strong 11 against Porto and won probably keeps the money men at the club at bay for this match. Hopefully see Gomez and Keita get 45mins each. Philips will probably share the game with Gomez. Game time for Taki, Origi, Ox, Morton, Konate, Williams, etc.

can't believe ppl are throwing Gomez in for this game.  he's been out for god knows how long and only recently got back to training.  you really want him dealing with Ibrahimovic, and not Nat?

for me, he'd get may be 15 mins at the end.  no way in hell will Klopp rush him back.

same goes for Keita.

Hoping to see something a bit 'weaker' than the Porto line up. By weaker I suppose I mean don't play Salah or Mane. We can still put out a good side here and get ourselves into the game, I'm certain of that. Should be a good occasion and always nice to play at the big grounds, especially for some of the younger, less experienced lads.

Kelleher
Nico W.   Konate   Phillips   Tsimikas
Morton   Oxlade Chamberlain   Keita
Jota   Origi   Minamino

Would expect something a bit stronger than that, but I'd be more than happy to see that 11. Keita might get 45 minutes and can be replaced by another midfielder, had forgotten that Milner was suspended, but at least we know he'll be available if not injured in the knockouts. Would be nice if Gomez could get a half or sixty, too. Nice to not have to worry about the result, although the extra two million pound ultras may think otherwise  ;D. Enjoy the occasion.

I'd rather play Nat, who I thought was unlucky not to get Porto, but Klopp may see it as his chance to get his fitness up. Otherwise his next game will probably be in the League Cup.

Even at Preston, Gomez was very rusty first half but then dominated the second half and that was before the injury. Against a team like Milan who it's a massive game for, it's probably too soon.

Hard to know what to think about this.  Mainly I don't want any of our "key" players playing and that's about it I guess.  Key can mean different things to different people but for me I'd say that means no Allison, Trent, Fabinho, Van Dijk or Salah.

Just win. We need all the money we can get

Would also honestly rather a team still in it in the knockouts face as hard a side as possible as opposed to playing an easier side like Porto, cant stand Atletico but if its a choice between another group winner having a bastard of a tie against them or them facing a Porto or AC side that look VERY beatable I know which I prefer

I think it will be a very similar team to the one we played against Porto. Looks like Jota, Henderson and Thiago might be missing for this one.

Allison, Williams, Konate, Matip, Tsimikas, Fabinho, Morton, Ox, Minamino, Origi Salah would be my predicted line-up with a few half-time planned substitues.

I've never wanted Liverpool to lose a game more than this one, if we lose Atletico can't go through and we don't need a result as we have already won the group
Winning the game means more money even if not a lot it can be the next Harvey Elliott. It also helps coefficient etc. There are reason to not play the full starting 11 but Klopp is going put out a team that is good enough to win

Still plenty to play for the other sides in the group. Pretty much whoever wins their game goes through to the next round so it really is winner take all for the other teams. I think Milan will come out and try to attack and win the game which will leave us a few opportunities to counter-attack and exploit gaps.

I definitely think we will rotate and JK has said as much. That being said, there's a few players who are on the fringes of first team action that could do with minutes. No matter who we put out, there'll be players there that are good enough to be starting games for us (e.g. Tsimikas, Ibou, Ox, Origi and Minamino have all been pretty good when they've had opportunities, and it's no shame being kept out of the side by world class players )

One of the least interesting final group days I’ve seen for a while, there’s only our group where qualification isn’t already sorted, not that I’m complaining as I’ve long been an advocate for the path of least resistance to the knockouts, especially when we’re going for the league.

You’d think all eyes will be on our group tonight though, not much going on elsewhere.
