This will be a high scoring game. We can potentially lose 3-2 or even 4-3. Ot it could be a 2-2 draw.

A quick reminder that last year with practically our 5th/6th choice CB's and half our team out injured we went to OT and won 4-2. This team will be up for it, no doubt and I'm sure Mo will be wanting to show up Ronaldo.

If we play our best there is nothing United can do to beat us. I know we've struggled there quite a bit over the years for whatever reasons but this team generally turn up for the big games.

The only changes I want to see in the team is Gomez in for Matip because I'm certain his extra pace will be needed, and Fabinho/Jones in for Milner/Keita.
I’ve plenty links to the clubs playing and backroom staff as many on here know thank you very much. Fair enough, I admire your optimism. But you’re absolute ostriches if you think this squad, even with 2 or 3 new, “cut price” players with potential get us anywhere close

Let’s get tore right into them and destroy them. Our front three have the ability to cut right through them.

It would be great to put 5 past them.

We beat them in an empty ground last season. Doesn’t really count for me.

Last time we won there properly was 2014 in the Moyes days. Another world.

Obviously not, i’m not doubting that it’s true but I wouldn’t have guessed it was that many without individually counting them all, just with the Atletico, City and Brentford games recently it feels like we’ve not kept as many as that.

To them it's a final.  To us it's just another tricky away game like Leeds and Brentford.

This and the Everton fixture are far too magnified in my book.  Both are inferior to us and we need to treat the game as such.

Just get out of there unbeaten with all our players uninjured and onto the next game, will do for me.

Hate all the fucking hype.

I am unsure how you can say that we magnify the importance of the Everton game. It’s our Derby for heaven’s sake.

Of course.  But it's not our cup final, our "if we only win one game this season let it be this" game.

Against these I'm not arsed how we win. However we can't control the refereeing decisions so that put's us at a disadvantage straight away. The slightest touch on them and don't be surprised to see plenty of free kicks being awarded whilst Mane gets the shite kicked out of him at the other end. It's not a game I can enjoy for 90 minutes. One team attacks, one defends and the inferior one gets the decisions as weve seen over the years from Burnley and Stoke etc.

Mad that it feels like we’ve had about 1.

We’ve only conceded in the draws, every league win has been a clean sheet! Ha. 16-0 over the 5 wins. It must feel like fewer because we haven’t kept a clean sheet in the CL?

We all know what they’re going to do - soak up pressure and then go long for Rashford or Greenwood to run in behind and to be fair, it’s a tactic that has worked well against us in recent times especially at their ground. Hope we’re switched on defensively to nullify that so our attack can do their thing and embarrass them.

It's weird how a couple of games where we conceded seems to become the norm. Perception is a strange thing.

What's the most effective way to counter that tactic?

Cunningly, we should score 3 goals and then let their captain and best defender have the ball in his own half.

You forgot the milking of multiple free kicks for Fernandes/Ronaldo to either ping at the goal or launch into Maguire.

Let Lindelof have the ball at the back, set traps for Maguire. Also, don't let Penandez have time to get his head up when on the ball in midfield. Make sure that as many long balls that they try are based on a hopeful punt as possible. Make it pure luck that one connects to one of their players.

I think the choice of midfield will be key - United’s strength over is probably is the depth of goalscorers and Ronaldo particularly just needs one chance. Fabinho, Hendo, and Ox possibly? Get at them quickly to stop long balls and crosses from deep.

There’s also a choice between Bobby and Jota, although I assume Bobby has had enough rest after Tuesday.
