Does anyone like Feeder, or did anyone like them back in the day? They were one of my favourites in my early teens, which probably coincided with their peak in popularity (
Echo Park,
Comfort in Sound, and
Pushing the Senses), but I lost track a little after that third (their 5th/6th) album.
Was curious so had a listen to their singles when they released 2016's
All Bright Electric, and ended up picking that & their subsequent album up - really enjoyed both. They've got another record due next year (I make it their 11th/12th, depending on how you classify
Swim), and I really like the sound of what I've heard so far too.
Feel like they're a band who've fallen through the cracks a bit since the early-to-mid-00s - they pre-dated the wave of British bands that arrived in the early 00s, and probably got lumped in with some of the MOR late-90s stuff. Have always been fond of the early stuff though - still enjoy listening to it now - and the last couple of records caught my attention again. Inclined to think that Grant Nicholas is a pretty underrated songwriter, when looking through their back-catalogue.
Certainly don't think it's 'pushing the envelope' in the way that some of the stuff that finds favour in this thread is, but I'm posting in case any one is still listening or in case an old fan is interested
