Haven't got that one, just have the DVD I'm afraid!

Yeah, I have the DVD too. Just no fun that everytime you want to hear the song, you have to play the song from the DVD or from youtube.

Record machine's a good tune.

And hey If you can upload the Liam version, I'd be pleased to hear it.

think two of the songs are ones we could see on the new album, it appears these versions were recorded during the DBTT sessions in 2004 but for some reason or other didnt make it or didnt fit with the rest of the songs.

Record Machine could be absolute epic tune given the right production as could stop the clocks. i quite like the Liam song though it needs a more melodic chorus and lyrics tweaked. lookin good though for the new album

The bit at the end of STC is amazing.

I like Liams song but it does sound very similar to meaning of soul

Liam's song is weak. When you look back and listen to Definitely Maybe his voice sounds so much better, nowadays it seems too throaty and harsh. Shame really but for that reason i much prefer to hear Noel singing the song's than Liam.
Well, this piece is called "Lick My Love Pump".

The more I listen to Stop The Clocks the more I love it.

They simply have to put either this version, or a more developed version on the next album.

It's got the potential to be one of Oasis best "understated but still massive" songs in the ilk of The Masterplan, Listen Up, Cast No Shadow, Going Nowhere etc...

The way Noel sings "What if I'm already dead, how would I know" is simply brilliant.

love these, stop the clocks just grows and grows with every listen and Record Machine is an instant classic, love the guitars on Liams and the mad string section bit after the second verse, but the chorus bit lets it down, still great though bearing in mind these were just demo's from 2004, if any are at all to be included on the new record i think nthey'll be fantastick with alot of improvement, think once Noels said theres about 7 different versions of stop the clocks recorded but they never really ''got it right'' wonder what it'll sound like when they do nail it.

also read somewhere that the new album will have 7 Noel penned tracks on it

good times

The more I listen to Liam's Lord Don't Slow Me Down, the more I question the decision to release the Noel sung version.

I've also heard a version mixed together by someone with them alternating verses ala Acquiesce which is just mind-blowing.

Good song, but its b-sides, I Got The Fever and My Sister Lover are perhaps even better though IMO.

Bit disappointed if Record Machine and Stop The Clocks aren't going to be on there. I was hoping for massive versions of both songs.

Still, if they're not on because they've got 11 better songs this'll be HUGE.

Been listening to Definitely Maybe again recently..i forget what an amazing album it is

previously the only song on the album that i didn't really like was "bring it on down" but at the moment i'm loving it.

looking forward to this new album...damn just imagine if they could conjure up another DM :P (although im not really expecting one and i doubt anyone else is either)

Best Oasis song: Dont Look Back In Anger from the "Morning Glory" album. Easily, one of my favourite albums going around.

The Shock Of The Lightning' new single out September 29th

‘Dig Out Your Soul’ new album out October 6th

Oasis are set to return later this year with a new single and their seventh studio album. The single,‘The Shock Of The Lightning’ is released on September 29th and the album, ‘Dig Out Your Soul’ follows in October; it is the first new Oasis music since last year’s ‘Lord Don’t Slow Me Down’, taken from the on the road film of the same name. ‘Dig Out Your Soul’ sees Dave Sardy return to the producer’s chair following his work on their 2005 album, ‘Don’t Believe The Truth’. Recorded at Abbey Road and mixed in Los Angeles, all four members once again contribute tracks, but the recording marks a new approach for the band as described by the band’s principle songwriter, Noel:

“I wanted to write music that had a groove; not songs that followed that traditional pattern of verse, chorus and middle eight. I wanted a sound that was more hypnotic; more driving. Songs that would draw you in, in a different way. Songs that you would maybe have to connect to - to feel.”

The lead single is still unmistakably Oasis, a Noel penned song with Liam’s immediately familiar voice to the fore underlining their distinctive brand of finger in the socket rock ’n’ roll.

‘The Shock Of The Lightning’ may well represent the most recognisable Oasis song on the album but, again, the new approach on ‘Dig Out Your Soul’ was present on this lead track as Noel explains:

“If ‘The Shock Of The Lightning’ sounds instant and compelling to you, it’s because it was written dead fast. And recorded dead fast. ‘The Shock of The Lightning’ basically is the demo. And it has retained its energy. And there’s a lot to be said for that, I think. The first time you record something is always the best.”

‘Dig Out Your Soul’ will be the first album released on the band’s own Big Brother label worldwide.

Keep checking back to Oasisinet for more news.

I'm sure its not really that important like but I'm not liking the title of the first single.  Hoping its like Be Here Now, Supersonic, Gas Panic, Digsys Dinner, Shakermaker, in that the title isnt in the lyrics.

Agree with that. Although Supersonic is very much in the lyrics..."I'm feelin' supersonic, give me gin and tonic..."

But nah, really looking forward to this now. From the sounds of it, The Shock of Lightening will just be the usual "First single" we've seen in the past three albums, sort of Oasis-by-numbers, but getting gradually better. Really looking forward to this album, I desperately hope Record Machine is on it...

Interesting.  Can you confirm that?

Heres an interview with Noel regarding some of the tracks from this morning

Not my link - just sharing it from another site.

The Pretty Things doing Strawberry Fields Forever, the Doors doing John Lennon, and the Stooges doing Fools Gold.  Interesting - although I wish Noel would stop giving the critics ammunition to accuse him of thieving.  Yes, he does borrow but who doesnt??
