I travel with the Hertfordshire branch of the supporters club, great bunch guys. Coach leaves for each home game from Stanmore tube station. Send an email from the website: LFC-herts.org

For midweek games what time in morning do they roughly get back to stanmore?

Due to an unexpected weekend away booked by my other half, I have return first class train tickets from London Euston to Lime Street for the Man City game on 7th October, details are:

Leave Euston at 11.15am, arrive 1.54pm
Leave Lime Street at 7.47pm, arrive 10.24pm

Face value is £60.70.

Give me a PM if you're interested please, happy to post securely anywhere in the UK.

Cheers,
Chris

Still got these going.

Chris

Hi,

I am going to the Cardiff game and travelling from and back to London on the same day to Euston.

My question is with the soccer bus from the ground back to the station do you think me booking the 5.47pm train at Lime Street back to London is pushing it i.e. with waiting for people to get on the bus and traffic etc or should I go with the safer bet of booking the 6.47pm train?

It is much cheaper for me to book a ticket for the exact time of the train rather than an open ticket so that isn't a option for me.

Many Thanks.

Defo 6.47. That soccer bus queue always long. I reckon you'd only be getting into central about quarter to six anyway. At least that way, worst case scenario, you could always have a victory pint whilst you wait for your train.

Anyone got a space for one on the way back to London (ideally South) for the Red Star game?

Will probably head up on the train. Happy to chip in petrol!

Usually when you buy a return ticket from Lime Street it will say you can catch any train back as long as its not during peak hours. Ive booked the 5.47 one myself but if you miss it its no big deal because you can catch the next one at 6.47 with the same ticket.

3 things

1) Don't use the trainline website, they charge you a booking fee. Use any of the operators websites as they don't charge a fee.
2) If you buy an 'advanced' ticket, you must get the train time specified on the ticket. You can't just get a different one to suit your needs.

That isn't the norm though, you either didn't get your ticket checked or the person that checked it wasn't arsed. If you have an advance ticket then that is supposed to be valid on that timed train only.

Or he got an off peak ticket with a seat reservation.

You might have a seat reserved on a specific train, but it's the actual train ticket that determines when you can travel.

If you've paid the full fare of around £83 for the return, or £42 for that particular leg of the journey, it can be used anytime on that day at the weekend. If you've paid less, then it will be an advance ticket where you have to used the specified train that you booked.

I’ve got two train tickets (on a two together) from Liverpool to London next Thursday morning at 8.47. Think they were about £20 each if anyone is in need. Walk up fare is now £290

What's the best way to get back to Newcastle after midweek games? Last train back is always before FT and last coach back is normally 10pm. I normally either stay out and get the first train back in the morning (3am) or book a hotel.

Just booked my train for the newcastle game from Euston, London to Lime street. 7:49 arriving at 11:43. Have I left it a bit tight with the 12:30 kick off. I usually power walk up to Anfield. Has anyone ever had this train delayed?
