Great player for us when fully fit, he's nowhere near that at the moment.

Actually I think there is more to this.
We play a much, much sharper and faster game then last time when Lallana was a regular first team player.
The team has evolved and moved forward, his best may not be good enough any more (on top of him being far from his best).
I guess we'll see if he manages to get himself fit again any time soon - we could sure use some midfield creativity.

May be on my own here but i think we actually play considerably slower and press a lot less than when Lallana was in the side regularly

I think back to games like Hoffenheim (when Can bagged 2) and we looked incredibly fluid and dangerous pretty much every time we went forward, its so much more disjointed and lethargic now

Our midfield passing sideways, back and struggling when pressed  creates a lot of our problems. Much prefer players who can receive the ball under pressure. City don't overload the midfied with defensive midfielders.

Yeah i don't believe the solution to our lack of fluidity and creativity is to take away an offensive position for another holder and play a 4231.

But we'll see.
