That seemed to go on forever.

They are just saying Trump got 17 minutes in the debate the most and Scott Walker the least 7 minutes.

I always thought it was meant to be even.
Don't blame me I voted for Jeremy Corbyn!!

Those 3 hours flew by.

I will say that Rand Paul was easily the most composed and measured of the candidates in his approach.  Might still be way out there but better than most of the clown car.

Ted Cruz continues to legitimately scare me.

That was fucking bizarre.

Haha this fucking debate, seemed like they discussed peoples (and Jeb Bushs wife) looks and appearance half of the time.

There is no shortage of lunatics in that party, thats for sure. They call Rand Pauls foregin policy dangerous when he is the only one that don´t want to bomb countries, as well as proclaiming that Obamas Iran-deal is the end of the world.

Funny that the republicans build up this picture of the US being weak and under threat, when they spend more money on their defense then the rest of the countries with the 15 largest defense budgets combined and themselves have bombed seven countries the last couple of years that are 7000miles away from their shores.

One of them said that the US should put US forces on Russias border, start aggressive military exercises there etc because then Putin "would get the message"....that would probably end well considering Putins reaction when NATO would expand into the Ukraine  :butt

Funny to see how these republican candidates would react if the russians did the same on US borders...

What a bunch of loons. That party is a fucking joke, the whole thing felt more like reality tv than choosing the next commander in chief.

^Looking at that video...I'm excited by what Sanders stands for, and I liked the content of his speech, but I couldn't help but think that he doesn't quite have that comfortable, natural style of delivering a speech. It wasn't 'easy' to listen to. Maybe we've been spoilt in that respect by the current incumbent.

I think that was more down to the tough audience that Sanders. Have a look at his other speeches, think he puts across his message better than Corbyn for example. Obviously not on Obamas level though, as much as I dislike him that mans on a different level.

He's more prickly than Obama and not as natural/easygoing in speech, but I think that comes from annoyance at having said the same stuff for two decades only to see everything you speak about get worse before your eyes. He's tired of being right. Assume that speech above was at Liberty University given your "tough crowd" comment...he'd really have to be careful and considered about every sentence around that lot of baying evangelicals. Yes you are right, looked the definition of a tough crowd. Worth a watch though, was interesting to see him put his point across in a different way. Quoting the bible and carefully explaining why he has his policy's. When you hear them it's hard to disagree.

For me, as a Christian, there are many more ways to help the poor than just taking money from the rich and giving that money to the poor.

But he's spot on in that we as Christians are called to help the sick and take in the poor, and we tend to do a pitiful job at that.

An indicator that capitalism is working very well... Just hold tight mate, in about 30 years time, a few cents might even trickle down to you. Think I'm going to get my brother to donate some money to his campaign, and the Wolf-PAC thing. Getting Bernie past Hillary, a fucking long-shot, will do more good for the world and the UK than even a Corbyn government in my opinion. I love the Bernie's passion. Unlike some (Hillary changing her tune because of the polls), he means it, and has been campaigning on these issues for years. No doubt the ABC's will tell us Hillary is the only realistic option if you want to help the poor (laughable, I reckon Jeb Bush is more progressive on some issues than Obama and Hillary), and that Sanders is essentially unelectable in America... Grim, just look at who finances these politicians to know what 'Change' they stand for. The whole system is corrupt as fuck, glad someone is finally saying it, and it seems it is a message people are receptive to. But yeah, if you really want to help poor Americans vote Hillary and more of the same...

Mark 10:17-31

The Rich Man

17 As Jesus was starting out on his way to Jerusalem, a man came running up to him, knelt down, and asked, “Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”

18 “Why do you call me good?” Jesus asked. “Only God is truly good. 19 But to answer your question, you know the commandments: ‘You must not murder. You must not commit adultery. You must not steal. You must not testify falsely. You must not cheat anyone. Honor your father and mother.’

20 “Teacher,” the man replied, “I’ve obeyed all these commandments since I was young.”

21 Looking at the man, Jesus felt genuine love for him. “There is still one thing you haven’t done,” he told him. “Go and sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”

I loved that debate question. So many candidates couldn't even think of a qualified woman in American history to pick. Speaks to how much they know about woman in America. You could even argue the choices they gave are the easy obvious answers.

To be fair, Clara Barton, Abigail Adams, Rosa Parks and Susan B. Anthony are all good picks. I would love to see Rosa Parks and Susan B. Anthony's opinion on these idiots.

He wasn't banned. He took a sabbatical with our Republican friend (forget name...) so they could raise a Mexican baby. Hope he/she is doing well Corky.

Yes, American politics are gone so far right it's scary. The country is effectively ran by big buisness/corparations.

Either im really really stupid (which is not beyond the realms of possibility) but Donald Trump and his posse come across as quite racist. Now does he dislike the mexicans or the muslims? Or both?

All of the above? There was a PPP poll that had 61% of his supporters believing Obama wasn't even born in the US. For comparison Jeb Bush at 18%. 66% of Trump supporters also believe Obama is a Muslim. Both those things are so absurd and you have to be a true idiot to believe in it. He has pretty much wrangled the Tea Party vote for the time being.

The whole immigration debate wasn't even a massive topic recently until he made a big deal of it for his "platform" (although, it has been a topic for decades, arguably centuries). Before this, the GOP actually seemed to be starting to make some effort to reaching out to Latino voters with the likes of Jeb/Rubio too.
