I've seen in the past quite a few comments comparing our ground expansion to Utd. Due to that shithouse bomber last night all the car parks near the ground are closed, so I've had to park in N3. It's the first to.e I've seen the full scale of how much land they own, you could build two stadiums on it. That's why they could expand like they did

Railway aside Man Utd were able to buy up the surrounding land pretty easily because Old Trafford is basically on an industrial estate. It was pretty easy for them to get hold of the land in comparison. Not to say mistakes weren't made by the previous regimes here though.

Remember it well, one of our branches was on the estate. Lot easier to move businesses as you expand than to get residents out.

Manc at work went there years ago to an IT conference, strangely our boss thought I'd not want to go, got a quick tour and they said they wouldn't have built on that side anyway due to light issues for the pitch. Doubt that's applicable now with the massive mobile growing lights they have.

Anyone know what's going into the Main Stand ground level which was originally going to be the Superstore? Is that still the plan?

Grey water recycling. It'll probably be reused for flushing toilets etc rather than sprinklers.

Surely more than just this or they'd have covered the seats before starting this work? Images from 10 days ago only have a few seats covered. Images above have 3 stands seats covered, and only 10 - 15 rows halfway up the Kop are covered?

Are they giving the away fans new seats? Seems to be a few rows missing from the last image above?

is it not wheelchair access for away fans?

You can see pretty clearly from those photos where someone (sorry, I've had a look but I can't recall who) made the suggestion about extending the upper centenary towards the Kop. I don't see what the issue might be there - George and the police could easily be moved elsewhere, there doesn't seem to be anything in the way and it would add I would guess at least 1,000 seats, and a couple of boxes, with uninterrupted views.

As Craig says, you'd have to remove the roof and build new supports, a new roof truss and build a new roof. You'd also hit the Kop Roof support fairly soon.

Looking at the other photos they've been dug at the Anfield road end as well, would free up space at the front of the away end so away fans in wheelchairs can actually sit with their own fans.

really i must missed that pics havent seen it yet so that mean couples hundred of seats lost in away end too going to have alook again to be honest this is a great move as sitting in the kop there is a slight slope back to the seat and it really doesnt help with photographers in front of you, as you is eyes level to the pitch and ever since the main stand build i moved to middle tier for better view and i love it as can see whole pitch etc
