Fuck me that's a tough one......

There's "Pigs on the wing" pts 1 & 2 which are, if I'm allowed to use this word, "cute".  :mooncat

There's "Careful With That Axe Eugene!", which my dad played to me before I was born and recognised when I was older (true story).  :fishslap (okay, so it's a fish and not an axe - use your imagination :P)

There's "Fearless", which captures the mood and style of the times perfectly (and there's The Kop of course ;)) :scarf

But my fave would have to be "Echoes Pt2" from the Live At Pompeii film - crank up the volume, get fucking WRECKED and enjoy absolutely every aspect of the song............every instrument, perfectly played, and the way Gilmour makes his guitar sing.........sublime.........

Roll me a nice phat one, Dad!  :jester :banned :roger

anyone seen The Australian Pink Floyd Show ?
They're fantastic, we've seen them twice - just a brilliant tribute band...

my favourite song changes...
but Wish you were here is ace.
Saw the Aussie Pink Floyd in the Odyssey in Belfast on Sunday night. Absolutely fantastic. They're currently doing dates in the UK and I can well recommend them.

Me likewise.. I went to see them with me dad in about 2003 when they were at summer pops down by the docks.. Best tribute band I've seen by a mile. Dad had been to see the real Floyd loads of times and was still well impressed.

Favourite song is really hard to pick.. but mentions to Echoes, Time and See Emily Play..

Oh, what a band.  Lucky enough to have seen them 4 times.  For me, the top 5 are probably:

Echoes
Shine On You Crazy Diamond
Fearless
Comfortably Numb
Sheep

So simple yet so relaxing

I saw them perform the Wall at earls court, when they built the wall on stage to about 40-50ft high. By the time Comfortably Numb came, the wall was built, and Waters and the band were these little dots at the bottom of the wall. Waters sings the verse I believe. Then for the chorus ( "there is no pain you are receding" ) and those wonderful harmonies, gilmore sings and I assumed he was on stage too. Then comes that guitar solo, surely one of the greatest ever, and suddenly the stage lights and auditorium lights are dimmed, and there standing on top of the wall, 50ft up, totally alone, is gilmore, guitar howling, one spotlight behind him, throwing his shadow over the whole of the floor of the auditorium. ( I was up to one side ). The only person lit in the whole arena.

Shiver. My favorite live moment by a mile.

Some may see this as sacrilege...but anyone listened to the reggae version of Dark Side of the Moon? Dub Side of the Moon by The Easy Star Allstars.

As an idea, had the potential to be dreadful, but somehow I think it works. The poignancy of the lyrics come across just as strong. Would recommend it if you happen to like Floyd & reggae.
