Traveling to Liverpool in April
« on: October 23, 2018, 06:39:02 pm »
Hey guys,
Lurked on here for years, but finally needed to ask a question so here's to my first post. I'm an American heading to Liverpool in April, and not surprisingly would like to get to Anfield for a game. I have heard from my brother-in-law (Gunner) that this may be next to impossible, so I figured I would give a shout on here and see if anyone might have suggestions. Someone I know from Birmingham mentioned Hospitality tickets, but they appear sold out already from what I could tell. Anyway, any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!

You’re going to struggle if we’re in a title race

If we’re not  then the Huddersfield game you have a chance

That games  not on sale yet so you could buy a membership and try your luck in the November sale

My brother in law mentioned buying a membership... is that basically just luck of the draw on whether I can get tickets or not? I'll be in town during the Huddersfield game, so at least I have that going for me. I guess at the end of the day... title race > seeing the boys play in person. :)

Yes a membership for £30 gives you a shot at getting a ticket. That’s your first chance really

You can buy a membership and cancel it within 30 days if you don't get any tickets in the bulk sale.. that way you don't have to lose out on the £60 for 2 memberships.

The only other alternative is to buy corporate tickets. Pricey but at least that way you'd know you were guaranteed.

For a fan such as yourself who hasn't had a membership before trying to get tickets for a particular game is very difficult, especially if you don't know the vagaries of our ticketing system.
As others have said a hospitality package is the best way to go to guarantee that your long trip isn't in vain. They aren't cheap and also go very quickly indeed but would give peace of mind that you are sorted if they are available.
Good luck mate and hope you make it!!

When do those typically go on sale? What is the average price for this as well?

I bought some corporate tickets (for Huddersfield) game way back when they were first advertised. As you say, they were pricey, and seemed to be going very quickly even back then.

Anfield visit
« Reply #16 on: March 17, 2019, 08:27:28 pm »
Coming back to the UK for a visit (with Mrs and kids), stopping at Liverpool to visit Anfield.
Probably be my last visit home, getting too old for ridiculously long flights (16hrs Sydney to Doha, 8hrs Doha to Gatwick).
Promised the kids we would visit Anfield.

Tried to time the visit for a game but no way was I able to get tickets.

Anyhow - visit to Anfield is on the 18th April, and noticed there doesn't seem to be anything on, or am i missing something?

Depends what you mean by 'anything on.'

You can do the stadium tour. Museum will be open. Not really sure what else you thought might be happening?

Stadium tour/museum or something like those would be great.
Mainly for the kids, although I haven't seen Anfield since the re-development.
Last time I visited I was a youngster myself!

Also hoping my mate still runs the Beatles Shop on Mathew Street, not seen him since school nearly 40 years ago.
