Wonder how much his free kicks cost? The lad sure knows where the back of the net is.

We must have some clause where he can be recalled? Keep getting laughed out of here for suggesting it but the lad has it, whatever the fuck it is.
So bloody what? If you watch football to be absolutely miserable then go watch cricket.

Haha get the hell out of here  ;D

If we bring him back to sit on the bench then what’s the point? Dont see him gettinng ahead of the front 3 and Shaq.

Wilson has now equaled the 5 goals the Jordan Ibe scored for Derby in the championship having played about 80 minutes less. Ibe was only 19 though. I can't remember people calling Ibe an incredible talent at the time. What gives?

There certainly were, I was one of them and he duly came back and gave 4 months good service before really tailing off the following season.

You can't do anything but doff your cap at the quality of goals Wilson is scoring. And not just for Derby, his strikes for Wales have been equally impressive. I'm struggling to find someone to compare him to. The frequency with which he is burying freekicks is getting freakish and the remarks that always follow about him doing it all the time in training mean it isn't fluke. It marks him out as a player of genuinely rare technical gifts.

That said, I'm doubtful he'll make it here but that is mainly based on the talent already in our possession. He will doubtless go on and have notable career at the top level somewhere though. He's a guaranteed 5-10 goals a season if you can get your players to fall over enough in the vicinity of the opposition box. Pretty handy in open play too. Someone will give us £20m+ sooner or later.

Yeah I remember there being a fair amount of hype for Ibe during that loan spell. He gave a MOTM performance in the derby not long after being recalled too if I remember correctly. Still shows flashes here and there for Bournemouth but really did expect him to have nailed down a place and chip in with more goals there by now.

People were excited about him and he did play a fair few games. Not quite good enough for us, but he is a decent player and good enough for PL in my opinion. I think Wilson has more to his game and is doing well, but you have to be pushing world class to get into our front 3.

Ibe was massively hyped! He was supposedly going to be better than Sterling (back when we all thought Sterling was the bees knees).

Re Wilson - don't think I've ever seen a player scoring this many free kicks over a sustained period of time - not Pernambucano, not Beckham. This is, what, his 4th? 5th? in a month or two? Will be interesting to see how long this can go on for. I remember a couple of years back Willian went though a similar spell where he seemed to score free kicks at a ridiculous rate for a month or two, but don't think it was this many.

What did klopp say? What did klopp say?

"He’s a finisher, which is the most difficult thing to learn, he has the nose for a goal if you want,” Klopp said in July after convincing the midfielder to sign a new long term contract.

“Harry’s development in the last few years is really exceptional so of course we had to keep the boy!

“Now we see what we do with that, but it’s really good that his long-term future is, for sure, at Liverpool.

“It’s good news.”

He's scoring them brilliantly but I have no idea how many he's taking to back that kind of claim. I know what you mean though, I think sometimes its a confidence thing, once one or two go in, players seem to feel they can score every one they take. I remember there was a point any Suarez freekick within a certain range I felt the minimum we got would be him sending the keeper flying across goal to keep it out otherwise its in, the same with Coutinho and I remember thinking in the Arsenal game he was shooting and scoring despite how far out it was.

The most prolific i've seen remains Juninho, never seen a player so gifted at taking them and it annoys me players like mr 1 in over 40 freekicks Ronaldo get credit for a technique that was being used long before he picked it up

I'd love you to be right, but to state that his achievements thus far entitle him to a 10 year Anfield career is ridiculous.

At the moment I reckon he's on course to command a nice fee next summer.

Out of this world. Sure, there’s lots of space - although Wilson is consistently good at moving to find it. But the shot itself will not be bettered this season. He strikes the ball like Shaqiri.

The comparisons between Ibe and Sterling were always well wide of the mark. Sure they're both quick, strong and technical, but Sterling has really good game intelligence, he knows where to be, when to move, when to wait. Ibe is way more (Adama) Traore than Sterling, all ability but no good at using it effectively.

Wilson has plenty of ability and game intelligence, the only thing he's really been lacking is a bit more physicality. Sending him on loan to a league that's technically a level below where he can be but physically a level above where he's at right now was a good idea. He's shown that he can maintain a high level all year round in the reserves, if he can do it in the championship too I'd expect him to be part of the squad next season.

Wilson could easily place the mediocre of Origi and Sturridge.

Has to be given a chance

Sounds like Wilson was back playing wide right having played a few games in midfield. 2 goals in a 2-1 win. Keep it up young man.
