If Linfield get through their first round match, they'll play Celtic at home on either 11th or 12th July. That is ridiculous if it goes ahead. No way that passes without serious crowd trouble.

There's no way the PSNI will let that go ahead. They'll ask for the home and away legs to be switched round or something.

Yeah I think this will happen. I'm sure both clubs will recognise the risks and have no issues swapping. It'll still be a bit ropey a week later, but there's no way it can go ahead on those days.

That's a shame. Most of the bands will be double-booked for that time so pre-match entertainment might be minimal.

The 12th is the date of the commemoration of the Battle of the Boyne (1690), when the Protestant King William of Orange defeated Catholic King James to claim the British Crown.  It's marked with lots of parades and bonfires and shit on the Protestant side. Not so much for the Catholics.
Linfield would be considered historically a deeply Protestant club, with the reverse for Sellick.

It would be a 'tense' time up in Ulster.

Luckily the Good Friday Agreement has resolved all that and that nothing that's happened politically recently has chang-
-oh.

On the bonfires they have Irish flags, effigies of the pope and people in Celtic shirts. By the way these aren't small bonfires, they are like 6 stories high.

A sensible decision really.
Celtic won't have any 'away' fans at the game having not taken their allocation. However there will be Celtic fans at the game. Linfield decided it would be a good idea to put tickets on general sale through ticket master. Plenty of local Celtic fans have bought them.
