Xenophobic nonsense.

Same mentality that convinced the american public that bush saved the country from alien invasion in "independence day" and that a two-bit , no-mark american shithead could beat a finely tuned, drug-addled, xenoph.......oh, hang on........

Now now Millsee - ranting at an ungodly hour - you'll give yourself heartburn again  ;)

You'll be surprised to know that I love the Rocky films.

Well remember the first one.  We lived in Jersey at the time and everyone was keen to see it.  We got tickets (yes, truly such was the demand) at a somewhat snooty cinema club who'd got it.  Terribly sophisticated audience doncha know.

Well, everyone went mental.  Leaping up, screaming, lashing out - the works.  Everyone staggered out completely knackered.  Ah happy days .....
Rather a day as a lion than a lifetime as a sheep.

I can only be nice to one person a day.  Today is not your day.  Tomorrow doesn't look too good either.
I tried being reasonable.  I didn't like it.  Old enough to know better.  Young enough not to give a fuck.

Rocky IV scapes the bottom of the barrel... there were times when I laughed and times when I looked away and winced. Dreadful, embarrasing and utterly moronic.

Loved the close-up where Drago gets 'injected'. Classy stuff Stallone, real classy that. Jingoistic nonsence of the lowest common denominator.

If anyone has seen Aki Kaurismäki's short satire of the film, 'Rocky VI (1986 9 mins) please raise your hand.

Kaurismäki describes the film as "my revenge on Mr.Stallone, who I think is an asshole." Thankyou Aki, you mad brilliant man you.

I don't know some people just go way ott...... you take out of films anything you want.....

It's a film, entertainment - aimed at kids, us kids loved it - it's 20 years old for fucks sake...... crap lines and a leading man who can't even change the tone of his voice - a bloody good laugh  ;D

Some people need a little perspective here.....   ::)

Everyone's favourite seems to be this one, mine is the first one though. Except the ending which is a bit cheesy and resembles a luvvy duvvy movie.

Least favourite is definitely the one with his son and Tommy Gunn

There's nothing after IV for me, in my headcanon. IV just has the best one off fight scene I think. The first Creed I thought was enjoyable enough, not seen the second but by all accounts it's shite.

Creed II is basically a sequel to Rocky IV, and I enjoyed both Creed films immensely. Have to agree with the Rocky V criticism - it's shite, and Balboa has its heart in the right place but the whole concept is stupid. I'll always watch any of the first four but while Rocky is objectively the best of the series, Rocky III is the most enjoyable for me. Best blend of characters and the balance between serious and silliness really worked. Rocky IV is hugely fun but there just isn't enough to chew on.

Saw R IV in the cinema with my mum of all people. I must have been about 12.  Crazy thing is it wasn't the kind of film either of us would typically go watch, but she was going mental by the end. ;D
