Think the difference here is the competition - it’s going to be very hard for Chelsea to put up decent but not great underlying numbers and keep pace with us and City
It’s possible - everything is possible - but there are pretty clear reasons their current run of results isn’t sustainable

They WILL slip up, it's football and everyone does BUT they're being written off way too much. Their forwards will start firing more IMO, I dont see them conceding loads at any point because of the way they set up. 100% keeping pace with us and City is always gonna be hard, I guess you have to look at what all 3 sides are doing to be honest. City look more beatable than in previous years, we leak too many goals and score a lot, Chelsea look solid at the back but are scoring enough to get wins, what is going to win out because you could just as easily argue we cant win it with the rate at which we concede, solid defence tends to be the foundation for titles IMO but I could be wrong

Absolute fucking state of West Ham.

Gifted a way back into the game and immediately piss it away. Twats.

But their strikers - Lukaku and Werner - have been injured for weeks. The defence has stepped up. I know Lukaku was struggling a little and Werner is shite but they have had injuries in attack. Pulisic has been in and out, Mount has struggled with illness and injury too. It’s not like they have had a full compliment of attackers to choose from and the defence are bailing them out - it’s just the defence stepping up. And they are obviously good at set pieces.

There is going to be a time when Lukaku does settle into some form which is the worry for me.

Lukaku was part of the problem before, Chelsea were looking slightly better when he wasn't playing, so it will be interesting to see if he continues with him or realises that they may be better without him in the team.

I was reading that West Ham are increasing the capacity of the ground to 62,500 and might eventually go up to 67,000. I think they've been getting attendances just below 69k, impressive as I always think of them as one of the smaller clubs.

Can only assume you haven't been watching this because that hasn't been the case at all. This is always pushed as if we are this hard done by team but they've played well so far and are slightly unlucky not to be going in level. Chelsea have cleared one off the line and have conceded a goal and additional chances.

we just didn't play very well against them,  hardly raising their game, same with Brighton and Brentford we should have battered the pair of them, aside those two games we've despatched the other mid-lower table teams we've played comfortably, scoring at least 3 goals in each of them

The game raising is a myth to excuse a poor day at the office

Folks, all teams drop points from time to time it's football. All the top three have had games where they've dropped daft points, but it's still early days overall. Plenty of football to be played yet.

Can we also wait til the end of a game before deciding whether a team has tried, or it’s game over, and all the other shite.

West Ham aren’t in as good a patch of form as when we played them, we were a bit unlucky in that respect but they hate Chelsea and they’ll give it a go. What doesn’t help is their smaller squad and third game in a week. Chelsea rested loads against Watford and are better equipped to deal with it.

Hopefully we’ll be similar against Wolves (without the resting loads).

Let’s just see what happens sections half. Unless you’re trying to cry in a West Ham equaliser in which case, crack on!

Mount hardly being marked isn’t it. Defender took like seconds to react even though the ball flight would have told him where the ball was going. Took his bloody own sweet time to close down like he doesn’t care.

Yep our balance is off at the moment.  All those goals we're scoring and chance creation are down to a more offensive style that is risking more which is giving teams more chances to score against us.  We need to go back to the balance that got us the title, where we'd go 1 goal up and that was it we'd just suffocate teams into submission.  We need less Connor McGregor and more Nurmagomedov.  ;D

Edit: I hate to say it, but Chelsea kind of remind me of a team that is playing more like that.  They bore you to death with their possession at times and while it's not great to watch I wouldn't mind seeing us do more of this.

Wouldn’t make for very good half time threads on our games though. Think they’d be significantly shorter
