What’s this about away end tickets being sold at the ground?

Is this true? Do you get the credit? We have one in the home end hospo but he’d sell that off quick if it’s true.
Fella in front of me at the ticket window just got a ticket in the away end, wouldn't sell them to me

Anywhere but Madrid for a year or more please.
Well and truly bored of the place. Even Porto is starting to seem fresher.

More poor stewarding and policing in Spain.

Stewards took my house keys off me when searching me on the way in. Had to go and explain to the other steward in order to get them back.

Why search everyone every time they leave the toilet? Just caused a huge queue getting in an out.

I just don’t understand what they are expecting at times.
Dogs inside as well. That was a new one.

Don't know you but I heard about that last night. Glad you got them back but OTT on the searching.  And if LFC do a reccie b4 each trip why didn't they know.
As for not letting us down the slope to our waiting coaches ::) Felt for some elderly with limited mobility as we gad to go around. Where we're the LFC stewards then?  They did FA last night outside then nowhere to be seen after, trotted down the slope closed to us when it was too late.

There should be feedback on the OTT policing. Literally treated like criminals. Are they surprised when there's 0 trouble? If only we had a communications officer at the club..

I complained to the club this morning, asking why they didn't tell us (or know?) about the OTT searching. The LFC stewards did nothing and were nowhere to be seen when the Police wouldn't let us down the slope by the away end to our coaches afterwards (but walked down it themselves soon afterwards). Just seemed to be a waste to me.
Deffo think the club need to ask about the post-toilet searching and feedback to us.

If others want to do the same, email them on contactus@liverpoolfc.com

Was very strange the searches. Maybe because of the CL Final and a few getting pyro in / maybe bunking they were ultra cautious? Seemed well excessive. Those dogs looked frightening too lol.

Honestly thought the Spanish stewards were fine, and in good spirits, even the ones outside the toilets were sound and friendly. That was around 45 mins before KO when we went in

Didnt see any issues with them and we were warned about the excessive searching. Follow MerseyPol on twitter, they even tweeted about it on the morning of the game.

At half time it was kicking off with the stewards searching at the toilets because some of our fans were going mad about the queue, pathetic really and some of our fans' behaviour was disgraceful. Just needed to be patient whilst they did the job they were instructed to do, hardly a big deal is it

Searching people as they leave a toilet is quite clearly a big deal.

People are well within their right to be unhappy about queing for the toilet because of excessive searches. That we 'were warned' it would happen isn't the point. I can't think of any other instance, football match or otherwise where I have been searched for going to the toilet. Treated like criminals it's ridiculous.

Not everyone has twitter, let alone follows Merseyside Police. The club never announced it. So most people probably weren't warned.

Just because it didn't bother you doesn't mean it's right and certainly doesn't mean it isn't ridiculous.

And also most people are having a nice time with their mates and aren't checking Twitter at 6pm in the afternoon on a Euro Away.

Searched 4 times attending a football match. Once by the police before joining the queue to get searched by stewards before getting to the turnstiles. Searched again after going through the turnstiles, and then after leaving the toilets.

WTF do they think we're going to come out of the toilets with? The fucking taps?

Similar welcome to Napoli away two years ago, treated as a prisoner that required extensive searching.

Searching 4 times is extremely excessive and dogs nuzzled barking like mad. What's the point?

Albeit the queues weren't long to get in/through turnstiles. But the fact they had 4 searches in the first place is v wrong.

Toilet searching was a joke, the guy just patted you down loosely. No point at all.

Fair enough. That's literally the first I've heard of that though and I follow the account. I didn't see it until I was on my way to the ground. I'm sure I'm not alone. I doubt even 20% of the away end follows that Twitter account.

But they could have had big signs up outside, printed it on the ticket, and put it on the front page of the Echo every day for a week and it would still be ridiculous.

My.comments (which I tried to make constructive) were passed up the line at the club and the Supporter Liaison Officer rang me this afternoon.

She was very open to ideas and would welcome other comments or ideas from people who went.

The club were only told about the toilet searches on Monday at a meeting they have with the host club. They questioned it a lot and tried to talk Atleti out of it but they were adamant it was necessary ::)
She said Merseyside Police said they'd tweet it and the club retweeted it but accepted that most would not be checking twitter pre-match in case there was news. And besides you'd have to wade through all the other tweets too about Madrid weather, team news, etc. I suggested maybe sending it from a separate account (eg @LFCEuroAways) so pepole knew to check that if they wanted to late on.
She said they have a blog to share news of this type but I had never heard if it. I do usually read the info the club provides but accepted I could have missed it.

She said there WERE LFC stewards on the concourse but we didn't see any, and that they were outside too,:although we couldn't see any when the Police blocked our path down.

If anyone has further comments she'd like to hear them. Constructive obviously.

Nice of her to ring me though, even if the fire alarm did sound during the call and I had to go out without my coat :D

Tbf. I've been a lot worse Spanish aways. The excessive searching was a bit of a time waster but not too much of a bother. Thought the coppers were better than usual. Never saw any batons drawn anyway. Cracking city Madrid though and not many of the usual dickheads that turn up when we get a big allocation.

Think my highlight of the trip was the flight back. Plane met by 8 armed police at Gatwick and 3 Scouse guys behind me get marched off the plane in handcuffs for conspiracy to blackmail. Apart from that the searching at the game was excessive but police were better than Seville

I went through 6 searches & 2 ticket checks, having been marched up to the ground by a police escort that kept stopping every few minutes. No toilet facilities in the ground after the game either.

Other than that and the match it was a good trip. The ale was cheap, the food was great and plenty of familiar faces there.

I was standing by the girls toilets at half time having a bifter. The female stewards actually searched a young Scouse girl coming out . I' d say she was about seven or eight . What the fuck is that about ?  A lad who had just sent his daughter to the toilets was having none of it when his daughter was coming out and just fucked them off and walked her away.

Being a bit of a toilet trotter, I was searched about 7 times that night.  Whilst I thought it was intrusive and a bit odd (I didn't know either), the two ladies on the toilet where nothing but courteous and by the 3 toilet trip friendly.  They didn't do a body check the last time and just browsed my bag and made a point of saying goodbye as I left!

I am not trying to make light of other peoples negative experiences, I am 100% sure that these are also accurate.  However, I felt it only fair to add my positive experience.

Happened to us to. Went to Canillejas, stopped there at El Gallo cafe bar for toilet stop and quick drink, then went to walk to the ground through Plaza de Euripides and accidentally ended up in the midst of loads of police who wouldn't let us leave, there were only a handful of us and we wanted to get to the ground quickly to ensure we got through security OK but they made us wait until more people accidentally walked into the area. Finally they marched us up to the ground but very slowly, we were still weren't in at 20 minutes before KO.
