To be fair they feel like different shows. The Channel 4 version was very raw, in a good way. The Netflix one is more polished.

I just wish it was made clear what came first so when viewers get them on demand you know what to watch first. Top Boy was promoted when it came out and it was only weeks after Top Boy Summerhouse even appeared as an option. Oh well, lesson learned.

Just watched the first episode of The offer a mini series about the writing and making of the Godfather films

Some parts can be a bit over whelming you have a scene with Arthur Hill meting Ali Mcgraw to star in Love Story... Then you are on the set of butch cassidy and the sun dance kid...  Oh look theres Anne Margaret.... Then people making decisions about the Willy Wonka poster and why is there no chocolate on it.

I felt like sometimes it need title cards for who people are.... I'm enjoying it  but it can do you head in sometimes with all the TV and film checks

But still enjoying it.

I think the offer is getting better and better after the set up in the first one it really good now it just about the writing and casting of the film right now

I knew Frank Sinatra was a dick about the book and film because he thought the singer was based on him but didn't realise now big a dick he wss

Finished Slow Horses last night, what a gem if a show and Gary Oldman is fantastic in it, steals every scene.

Apple knocking it out of the park the last 12 months with See, Invasion, Severance and Slow Horses, I still have high hopes for Foundation to join those top shows.

Been watching Red Dwarf, halfway through series 7

Series 1 is bad to the point that I'm surprised it got renewed. Series 2 is okay. 3-6 are bloody brilliant.

7 so far is fine but it's badly missing Rimmer.

I love series 1, the fact is is made so cheaply just adds to its charm plus if you've read the books you can see where its come from.

2 was ok,

3 and 4 you can see everybody truly building into their characters

Series 5 is the best followed by 6 which you can tell had some decent budget thrown at it.

7 onwards are very hit and miss for me, more nostalgic in some respects and just keeping the fan boys happy - of which i'm one - but some of it is forced and not that great!

Rimmer is the best character superbly acted by Chris Barrie - he was made for that role.

The Red Dwarf books brought actual tears to my eyes when i first read them.  So good.

The backstory of Rimmer and how he once sent his Gazpacho soup back to the chef because it was cold, is stuff of legend :)

Agree, Infinity welcomes Careful Drivers and Better Than Life are 2 books i can read ad nauseum and never get tired of them - Backwards and Last Human had their moments but you could tell who was the science guy and who had the comic talent when they went their own ways.

Binged Love, Death and Robots last night.

Big improvement on season 2.

Stand out episodes were the Fincher directed one "Bad Travelling" where he teamed up with the Se7en writer.

"Swarm" was a good one.

"Jibaro" which had the best animation was probably my favourite one.

Bored of the whole Netflix/Amazon shite I used my free Apple TV pass. Slow Horses is absolutely fantastic, like properly brilliant. People go on about Gary Oldman, he's fantastic, but he's secondary to the writing here. Loved it.  Now three episodes into Severance, which is beautifully unique.

Quality, not quantity I guess (unless Severance turns to shite)

Seriously fucked up storyline, in a good and compelling way.

Even the ridiculously shit cgi doesn't really detract.

Hope it gets renewed for a second season series...

Yes please the final scene definitely whet the appetite for more.

Agree on the slow paced shouts but I like the eventual reveals, worth the wait.

Yes just bombed through all 8 episodes, I thought it was great.

Spoiler

The place they mention sounds like Chi-Rho, which is an early Christian symbol combining the first two letters of Christ in Greek.  Think it's a settlement set up by the Jesuit who found the first portal in 1723 in Argentina, and that's what Franklin and Irene saw at the end.

I think the planet is habitable during the day, but not at night, so those things towering over the settlements might close at night to protect them. The first to arrive probably found them and built their settlements inside.
