Downloading episode 3 now. Dunno if it's wise watching it though as I'm slowly working my way through Six Feet Under (on season 2 at the moment) and might be a bit strange the same actor switching from a gay funeral director to a forensic analyst serial killer and back again.

Dexter is a great series. Also reading the book...

Gonna be interesting this season to see how close his sister, special agent and Doaks get to catching him.

Spoiler
Great episode this week, but am really disappointed with the somewhat abrupt ending to the Doakes-Dexter feud. Granted, I expect it to reappear later at some point, but it was such a cop out. That said, the fact that Jaime Murray is now on screen makes it all worthwhile.

She would take it.

Repeatedly.

Across her face.

Mmmhmm.

I got the feeling from the way Rita looked at her at the end of the show, she knew her somehow. I'm guessing she might have also been Paul's sponsor and maybe even helped break up their marriage. Maybe I'm trying to look too far into that look Rita gave her.

The thing with Doakes also seemed contrived. If he heard all of Dexter's speech, he should have been even more suspicious. Maybe he only caught the end or something..

After seeing Lost, Heroes and Prison Break go from the sublime to the fucking ridiculous (well Lost is still just about watchable, the other 2 are appalling), it's nice to see one show on TV can remain consistantly excellent.

One thing though, I hope they address what he does to get rid of the car dealer's body. I mean he can hardly go sailing out to his usual spot and dump it into the sea can he?

I suppose that's what I get for downloading the first 2 episodes when they leaked online and then having to wait about 3 months to watch the 3rd.

I just realized that Keith Carradine is on the show this season and man does he look different from when he played D'Hubert in The Duellists back in the 70s.

Just discover this. I wasn't sure if it was worth continuing with after the first season, first episode, but have found enough encouragement on here to keep going.

Will catch up soon enough :)

Shit in what way? She's turning into a Grade A bitch, that's for sure. Following what I've read in the book so far, though. She's like the Miami-Dade version of Machiavelli's Prince.

Eh...It's just not fitting into the rest of the show. First they made out like she was some desperate bitch looking to get into Dexter's pants. Then she was the sympathy case because someone took her job. And now......It's just a bit too soapy for me. Not the show, just regarding her.

Gonna be interesting to see how it's handled in the books as I continue reading. Only on page 93 right now but there's an early passage where Dexter says he used his charm to make her like him. Also says that La Guerta has advanced more because of politics than ability, which makes absolute sense to me now seeing the way the show's turned out.

The accuracy regarding her might change as I continue reading though.

By the way, does anyone else find the actress playing Morgan annoying as hell sometimes? I kind of find it hard to believe she'd make it as a cop, but hey, who knows.

Episode 4 was tidy. But not great.
Spoiler
The twist at the end did nothing for me because La Guerta is nothing more than filler. Same with Doakes, they called off the Doakes-Dexter angle way too soon. Oh and Lundy is clearly going to fuck Deb at some point.

I don't get the point of the suspicious mother in law either.

Watched episode 4 last nite, a bit disappointing compared to earlier ones.

Spoiler
I don't get how the police don't have any cctv outside the morgue and that they also let garbage men in to empty the bins without any checks.  Also Dexter wouldn't be able to take that Lyla into the morgue surely?  And her accent is shit.

Got into this a while ago. Thought series one was really top notch stuff. Two seemed not to have started as well... but episode five was great.

Third place in the modern TV race for me behind Sopranos (not perfect but as cool as... some of the set pieces and individual scenes are the best ever) and Six Feet Under (perfect and outstanding, but not as cool as...).

Seriously seriously weak episode. English chick is just annoying now and what's the point in Rita's mother? The series has seriously slowed. Looking forward to 6 all the same.

Echo that.

The English girl (Jaime Murray) is far from a tit. She would most definitely take it. Repeatedly.

Spoiler
Angry Black Cop has become a bit pointless though. Ended the angle between him and Dexter far too soon.

Also, it's clear that Debra boyface Morgan will end up fucking the FBI bloke.
