So beautiful. It wasn't just hit well. It was his perception that the ball needed to be hit early that was key. To be able to size things up like that so quickly is what marks out great footballers.

Spot on!!!  And how many players could have made that pass after 60 min on a heavy pitch on a 35 yard sprint, first time the ball with some curl to it for Mo to mop up?

Not that many!  He has a knack for a critical pass or a goal at an unbelievable time.

Of course, Mo was piece of rare artwork there --- reminded me Suarez's goal a bit (first touch off of a driven ball) against Newcastle years ago.

I thought he'd played the pass too early  :-[

Mo said he thought the pass was too high and then thought it would land short and he'd have to control it with his left, but that it was inch perfect. Just a wonderful wonderful pass and goal.

I hope he gets some more starts as he brings a different dimension to our play. he's not everyone's favourite but give the guy a break.

His pass today to Salah was magnificent and he wouldn't have played it so early if he didn't believe that Salah was world class and had the skill to deal with it.

Klopp said the same. He did play the pass too early.

It was an incredibly low percentage pass. A pass that 90% of footballers would not of even seen. He had the vision and above all the talent to pull it off though.

The diagonal from Trent, the pass on the run from Shaq and the touch and finish from Mo were just sublime.

the pass is epitome of trusting the quality of the players he is with and that left boot of his

he trusts that mo would be able to control the ball with that pass/cross and what a first touch it is.

think his lack of pace made the decision for him as well. thought he would have a couple of touches first to steady himself but then that would kill off the threat of the counter.

Xherdan Shaqiri is averaging an assist every 137 minutes for Liverpool in all competitions this season (4 in 548 mins). Among players with 500+ minutes played for Premier League clubs in all competitions this season, only Kevin De Bruyne has a better ratio (every 120 mins)

He has lost a bit of speed and hasn't scored a lot so far. But he has a great shot from distance and he used to be one of the best free-kick takers in the league.

However, you always back him to score or assist every game or two. He has the magical ability to play that killer pass, cross or just smash it in from 30 yards.

Love having Shaq as an impact sub. He doesn't tend to make the same contributions when he starts games, but coming off the bench, he can be a game changer. Wouldn't mind him sticking around for another season.
