Well Shaq has scored more goals against Utd then Salah. Maybe he's got a Murphy-like role - wthout being a tit, that is. Sometimes a lucky player is more use than a better one.

I love him.  You could see him, Ox and Thiago haven't been up to speed yet these last few weeks after coming back from injury but hopefully this last game was a turning point.  I know it wasn't the best opposition but you could just tell they were a bit sharper in their general play.  That and another whole week of full team training will hopefully bring them up to scratch.

If Matip isn’t fit and hendo plays at CB again , him or Keita might start . Otherwise he might come on late and score a couple of deflected goals

Going to be honest about something here. I feel it's criminal how Shaq doesn't get time in our team but then I remember he's injured often so yeah but still. This guy is a top professional and has such class to his game. Hey he doesn't gegenpress for 90 mins well how about not asking him to do that? He does press too btw. I want to see more of him but it seems for two years we're expecting him to be shipped out without appreciating him. I really like him and his finesse and vision, best freekick taker at the club maybe too.

Thought Shaqiri was terrific today, made quite a few delightful passes - just a shame nothing came of them.

The foul for the yellow wasn't great, but looked more accidental than anything when tracking back. I did notice he made several interceptions and won the ball back a few times throughout too which is good to see.

Him and Thiago pretty much dominated the midfield for parts of the game. Hope he gets more starts in upcoming months.

He was our best player for me, pretty much every chance we had seemed to come through him at some point.

Hopefully can keep fitness and get a run in the team alongside Thiago. Both of them having the ability to strike from distance gives the opposition one extra worry and maybe a little more space in other areas
We already have shit in the country, and the game of Liverpool fills life with joy. Thanks

Personally I prefer him coming off the bench when legs are tiring. Has a great weight of pass, just a very good footballer, if only he was as robust as Wijnaldum, he would start most weeks.

Needs to get a run of games as his match sharpness has to be off and right now with the attacking three as cold as ice Shaq has to start.

He can play, can Xerdan.
Give him a freer role, if the full backs are not being productive.
Tweak the system to play with a more "10" type player, aka CUBE.
He ll get the creativity flowing for sure. HE s GOT THE JUICE.

Looked really useful in the first half but he faded badly.  Hopefully he can get up to speed as it looks as if he could be what we need.  Badly lacking creativity.  Seems to link up with Thiago very well.

First Premier League start since December 2019. Remember him making Everton look silly that night.

We definitely need to see more of him if he's fit. Really nice first half in there with Thiago, understandably faded.

thing is, how does not being a regular first-teamer affect him?

he wouldn't be in the first 11 of our strongest team and he knows that

as a sub or a player when needed he has moments of brilliance but mixed with a lot of nothing

i was excited when we signed him but not too sure he brings that much to a game though he has the means to

I agree, started really well but struggled for involvement in the 2nd half, though as a whole we were better in the first half than the 2nd. Hopefully that'll all come together with match fitness. Tonight either way I'd be fine with him starting or getting decent time off the bench.

That first time ball to Salah was savory.   What a sequence of passes --- reminds me of Salah's header against Man City off a robbo cross bounce....

There were some embarrassing posts at half time about Shaq.  Just shameful..

The powercube at his very best.

Think his link up play with Gini and Thiago was great and like Klopp said post-match, as soon as that midfield pushed up the passes were on.

Sublime talent at times, just a pity he's always had niggling injuries over his career to go to that next level.

Unbelievable technique with that pass.

So beautiful. It wasn't just hit well. It was his perception that the ball needed to be hit early that was key. To be able to size things up like that so quickly is what marks out great footballers.

Top post. Agree with this and the poster above - it really is just availability which dictates his absence.

Also I'd love to see that bit where he just launches himself into someone in the first half again!
