Brilliant that. What interview was that, Sam? He doesn't do that many and I know he got a four page spread in last month's Mojo.

The new album is so good. Really coming on strong.

So, too, Julia Jacklin's. Big winner right there.

Couple of years old but worth a read.

I am also loving the Julia Jacklin. Hand Habits also hitting the spot. The ladies are certainly putting in a strong showing this year so far.

Bought tickets to Julia's show here next month, very excited.

New Chemical Brothers. Heard it on the radio yesterday. Quite liked it. Always liked them, in bits. Great live show.

I've just got the solo album by the singer from Midlake. E.B The Younger. Will give that a go. He sand on the Chemical's 'The Pills Won't Help You Now' which I really like, in a kind of hangover fragility mode.

Wish I'd got the Khruangbin LP last year. Keeps popping up on my YouTube recommendations and I love it every time.

Also had on a new compilation of Cajun music: 'Kings of Cajun, Vol. 1: 22 Stomps from the Swamps' - fucking truckloads of accordions...great stuff.

Getting my RnB on.

Got the new Kyle Dion one on.

Next up, seeing what Solange has cooked up. Quite liked bits of the last one #guardianbestof2016 :lmao

Then back to Khruangbin...

I wan't a fan of the Solange album.

Seen her quoted as saying Stevie Wonder's 'The Secret Life of Plants' was a big influence on it, and you can definitely hear it. Not my favourite Stevie LP by a distance tho ;D

I go back to the last one a lot, a big favourite in my house. New one is a bit meh, followed up a great protest record with an album that feels pretty shallow. Nearly no words on it, just repeated vignettes. Like referencing Sanders, Alice Coltrane and Stevie wonder is cool but you better back it up and it doesn't get there for me. She's still amazing though.

Otherwise Rattle, Blue Whale and Gum Takes Tooth are pretty enjoyable. Going to get into USA/Mexico and Snapped Ankles this week.

New Matmos coming out... 'Plastic Anniversary'. Looks intriguing yet again... probably a good thing for my wallet that I didn't know about this...

'Deluxe edition boxset contains a sculptural album, pressed on oversized transparent 'vinyl' with embedded plastic bottles. Actual album tracks recorded in the grooves are rendered virtually unplayable by the plastic floating within. Each copy is signed by the band. This edition also includes the album on an exclusive multicolor mashup vinyl, an L-sized t-shirt, and a bonus track, all exclusive to the box. All proceeds from this special edition will benefit The Ocean Cleanup.'

... before I knew about it. Heard a few tracks... sounds great. Whole album made from plastic 'instruments'. Deerhoof drummer joins in too.

Yeah think we're on the same page here. The last one had some really great moments on, but this one is a bit meh in comparison.

Got the new Foals and am loving it. Vampire Weekend lead tunes are great and I've pre-ordered it.

Some really great music that continues with the following:

- The Stroopies - Whoosh
- Martin Frawley - Undone at 31
- Stehen Malkums - Groove Denied
- Robert Forster - Inferno

There is something in there for everyone.

Knock knock. Last song on a new 4 track LP out next month. Can't remember the name of the baritone sax player they have brought in for this LP, but will edit it in. Great morning song.

Really like the new Lambchop. Noted Nashville session man Charlie McCoy plays harmonica. Nice addition to their sound.

The Comet Is Coming album sounded good on first listen.

Can't wait for the new Drugdealer record, got a good feeling about it.

Just broke my vinyl fast with this beauty:

Was SO SO close to clicking 'buy' myself. I've been OD'ing a bit so held off. Now I'm finding myself hunting down a copy of Mort Garson's 'Plantasia' reissue on Sacred Bones. When will it ever end?!  :'( ;D

Well if you are going to be gardening, this Plantasia sounds like just the thing...

https://www.sacredbonesrecords.com/products/sbr3030-mort-garson-mother-earths-plantasia

Possibly followed with Stevie Wonder's 'A Secret Life of Plants', Haley Henderickx's 'I Need To Start A Garden', Donovan's 'Gift From A Flower To A Garden'...'Once We Were Trees' by Beachwood Sparks...also recommend Steve Gunn's track 'Spring Garden'...appropriate...'Plants 1-VII' by Daniel O'Sullivan...

Today's playlist perhaps!

Didn't know anything about this 'Plantasia' album before this morning. Intriguing and delightful. Fave track: Ode To An African Violet. Major selling point is the reprinting of the booklet.

Am still guerning about the Terry Allen... so so so painful ;D

May not be for most in here and not my usual listen but Billie Eilish's album is fantastic. Only 17 aswell, very talented.

Also been listening to Foals & Sundara Karmas new album which I've been impressed with, like the change of style by Sundara - lots of inspiration from Bowie and Arcade Fire.

Got it ready to go. Liked their first one.

New These New Puritans is a work of art. Weyes Blood sounds strong on first listen, too.

For you shoegaze lovers out there, check out the new one from Be Forest, 'Noctune'. Italian dark/shoegaze done very well.

Enjoying the Modern Nature EP a lot on first few listens. Can obviously hear a fair bit of Ultimate Painting vibe on the first track, but it's much heavier and harder than UP. Bit like the drums from Neu! mixed with the UP vibe, with occasional bursts of Nuggets distortion.

The last track is like Fairport Convention if they were 2010s hipsters.

Lots more fun records to come this year. Fucking hell my wallet is empty.

Quite liking Lee Fields' new one. No great departure from any of his previous stuff and heavily indebted to classic soul and that, but the bloke's been doing it for 50 years so I think he's probably allowed to be a bit retro.

This year is really strong already - been listening to Shana Cleveland (La Luz) solo one, Chris Cohen and The Proper Ornaments. All really solid efforts.

Really looking forward to the Fontaines D.C. record - probably my favourite of all those bands from that ilk.

It started off fairly slowly for me, but the last couple of months has been great for stuff that fits my personal taste so I'm now tempted to agree with you. Someone should start doing some "best of the first 3.3 months of 2019" lists or something...

I'm currently enjoying an album by The Comet is coming, one of Shabaka from Sons of Kemet's things. Sam mentioned it before, but I only just got round to listening to it. Some fun stuff on there, some spacy, trippy stuff too.
