What's football weekly? The Mac has been at the garage for months being looked at by the whoppers at Apple, but TAW is my first podcast subscription. I still don't know how it all works, I'm just glad that all my music hasn't gone. I'm hoping I get some sort of notification from iTunes or summat.

But I'm absolutely sure that TAW fellas will be delighted that one listner..no, subscriber, pressed pause a while in to listen to Radio 5's, Monday Night Football Fun Club, with Motty and Claridgy et al, because, bath time for child happened, and he turned on radio 5 upstairs and there was Capello talking about Carroll and I was like you fucking what?! I was Mr Indignation. It's on pause till tomorrow morning... a bonus to find one this week tho.

Glad this seems to be taking off for you guys. Really been enjoying the articles on the website too. Finally getting chance to catch up with the new podcast. Makes for a good start to the week.

Just finished listening to this weeks musings on the transfer window, Arsenal, Harry and the up coming Stoke Game, not to mention of course some well needed publicity for the "Don't buy the Sun" concert  and I would like to say - Excellent

Informed, thoughtful and just plain good listening.

Another thumbs up for the podcast.  I look forward to it on a Monday now.

It's basically a more civilised version of a bunch of reds down an alehouse (that serves cake).

Well in.

It's great having a regular Liverpool focused podcast, look forward to hearing this each week now.

As a side note it's good to hear reds talk about players/tactics as opposed to owners trying to rip the heart out of the club. It feels like the club as moved on so much in the past year.

Yep, fills a niche that needed to be filled.

Yes. Every week you can "Download Directly" and it will be stored in which ever folder you downloaded it too. Just double click and listen on the PC - that's what I've been doing. Alternatively if you have iTunes you can subscribe and download it automatically each week, but navigate to "podcasts" and then load up the Anfield Wrap and double click the latest one.

Hope that helps.

The only suggestion I can give, which is a bit of a pedantic one, is to give the episodes a standardised name, three different types of name so far. Just makes it look a bit more professional (e.g how they are named in iTunes)

It is going to be interesting to see where the uber pumped up Gerrard is going to 'fit in' indeed. Interesting point about him taking over Dereks minutes... I'd be surprised by that I have to say... am sure there will be lots of switching, some games he plays wide, some central, but I think it'll mostly be central. I'd really enjoy seeing him on the right again I have to say... but it is very near that corner flag, so that's a worry, and I thought we'd bought someone to cure us of all that. (smiley)

We had a chat about that this week, we've settled on a format now, just essentially tinkering with a few things to find out what is best fit

This weeks was a good one, no doubt. Started brilliantly with the Savage rant and went on from there. The last couple were a little 'vanilla' imho but this one had some insightful views and lively well thought out debate.

I do think less is more regarding numbers. Great stuff lads.

What's football weekly?

Football Weekly is The Guardian's podcast. I've listened to it a few times and it's pretty good.

TAW quickly became required weekly listening for me on this side of the pond.  Really great format (including the duration).

If I had one suggestion it would be to help listeners figure out who is who when everyone is talking.  Personally I can't understand who is saying what, but it's all good.  Maybe a brief Audio file under the names on the website would help us get familiar with the voices.  Maybe a very brief description of the conversation and who is raising which points would be helpful.  Anyway, just a thought...

For what it's worth I particularly liked this week's podcast (9.5.11).  It was the best so far.  Among other things, it was refreshing to hear you guys mix it up a bit and talk about Arsenal (even though one of you took the easy way out and segued into a play-to-the-crowd Hicks comparison and simply blamed the greedy Americans for all the Gunners' woes).  It was a solid discussion and brought up some v good questions (i.e. behind the scenes mystery issues) and points (i.e. Wegner losing it after Dean left).

*  And IMO the discussion about Gerrard coming back and his role(s) should be required listening for everyone on RAWK.

Keep up the great work...  ~  JC

Best one so far this week lads. Thoroughly enjoyed it, the Savage rant at the start had me in stitches!

Can understand why people are suggesting putting names to voices but I reckon regular listeners would pick them up over time, I can definitely tell a number of them after a few weeks listening.

With all due respect Roy, I hardly think anyone connected with Liverpool Football Club really wants to hear a Scottish accent do you?

No, it's a good show. Brilliant that it's taken off like this. Such little disagreement though! It ain't like being down at the pub in that respect.

A lifelong red, I went to live in Oz 4 years ago.

I love a really good football podcast, and The Anfield Wrap is now my firm favourite.
I also like Football Weekly and The BBC's World football phone-in. (Tim Vikery and Andy Brassell talk with genuine knowledge)

Thankfully I no longer have to listen to the crap "Matter of Life and Death" podcast. A group of men who seemingly know very little about Liverpool, or football in general for that matter, spending an hour talking about themselves and 5 minutes talking about Liverpool stuff they've read in the papers!!!

If I was to suggest a minor tweak to TAW podcast, it would be this:
Because there are many voices talking at once it can be hard to follow. Perhaps increasing the role of the moderater in the debate would improve the sense of order and direction. And like the guy above said, occasionaly mentioning the name of the person when asking the question would be helpful while we all try to learn the different voices and accents.

These are just minor points though, because it's by far and away the best thing available at the moment.

Thanks for making it
