27 years later and hopefully everyone directly affected by the tragedy get the outcome that they've fought so hard for ever since that day.

Hopefully this marks the end of a chapter for everyone affected and finally allows families to remember their loved ones in peace.

I have a lot to get off my chest - as I suspect do many others affected - are we going to be censored?

As far as we can, no. We will need to be careful about libel, and any additional instructions from the Attorney General. If anyone is charged, then the legal minefield is back in play.

There is plenty to say about the proceedings that could not be said at the time.

We all need to ensure we comply with any instruction issued by the Coroner when he delivers his verdict, or any possible comment from the AG. There may be evidence submitted to the Inquests that is sensitive. None of us would wish to jeopardise any future actions or ongoing investigations. Also, the mods need to ensure that the usual forum rules regarding libel, threats, etc are not broken. :wave

Its taken a long time to reach this point and now we are here my emotions are in turmoil this morning.

Although not personally involved I don't mind admitting I've shed a few tears for the families over the years during this long struggle for justice.

I'm saddened that some who have been central to the campaign and who have shown astonishing courage, fortitude and enduring love are no longer with us to see this day.

I pray for a correct and just verdict this morning.

I can only echo what the rest of you have said...

Im in work... emotional as hell. I, like many others on here are survivors from Leppings Lane, and if  the verdict goes our way, I just feel this massive stress and pressure lifted from me... A quarter of a Century being blamed for the deaths of our fellow Supporters has slowly destroyed me. I cant describe what I feel right now, but messages from my close mates have already put me in tears a few times. God Bless to all, and we stand together with the Verdict this morning. YNWA x

OOTer - but best to all the families and friends of those involved, and the people of Liverpool in general today.

Hope you get the verdict the campaign deserves and some of the burden you've all carried is lifted.

Waited a long time with haunting images of that day in my mind.  Hoping that the families get the justice they deserve, hoping that those responsible are seen to have been responsible, hoping that they (and those responsible for the disgraceful reporting and cover-up in the aftermath) carry the burden of bitter remorse and self-hatred to their graves.

The Hillsborough Board (and Feedback) will remain open throughout the day for news and updates. The Liverpool Board is currently open, but will be closing shortly. All the other boards are read only from this point onward.

http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/announcements/218276-follow-lfctv-s-coverage-of-the-hillsborough-inquests-verdicts

Quote
The Hillsborough inquests' verdicts will be returned today and two days of dedicated programming will be available to watch on LFCTV and LFCTV GO, with no subscription required for either service.
More than two years after proceedings began at the court in Warrington, the six women and three men of the jury are set to answer 14 general questions in determining how 96 supporters died as a result of the disaster on April 15, 1989.

The jury will also return its findings regarding the circumstances of each victim’s death, with individual questionnaires recording the cause and time.

LFCTV will provide updates from Birchwood Park throughout this landmark day with news bulletins, reaction and live coverage of the families’ subsequent press conferences.

Coverage will continue on Wednesday, interspersed with the moving ‘More Than a Number’, a five-part programme in which those who knew them best share their memories of the 96 through the reading of poignant ‘Pen Portraits’.

All those with a Sky box or any Virgin Media subscription will be able to watch LFCTV for 48 hours from 6am BST on Tuesday. LFCTV is available on Sky channel 429 in the United Kingdom and Ireland, and on Virgin Media channel 544 in the United Kingdom only.
