I thought you couldn't be offside if the ball was played backwards?

Amazed how many people and even professional footballers thought this was a rule!

I really hope Wolves win this. The more points Leicester and City drop, the earlier we can officially win the title. Sometime in March would be absolutely delicious.

Well the other guy in Dean's ear has fucked his team over by not giving Maddison the red card his challenge deserved, so you can't really blame him.

He's not going to change his opinion though is he? It totally pointless, get in the dressing room and prepare for the second half.

Retrospectively, you're right. Might encourage the ref to be biased in favour of Wolves though (not saying it would, just that there's potential - as there is for Dean to be antagonised and be biased against Wolves)

I get your point, and god knows there are few decent refs out there, but I'd be surprised if Dean one of the betters one would apply to those tactics.

This is where the stupid 10cm leeway is going to play havoc next season. They'll be just as pissed off when its 11cm or 9cm !
The offside rule is being applied consistency in this manner.
Funny how those knobhead wolves fans think this was onside as well as the one at Anfield, yet this was more clear than the one at  Anfield ffs !

Aye, if you're using VAR for offside there has to be a line drawn somewhere, even if it's a leeway line.

Beyond the fact that it appears to be millimetres off and offering zero advantage to the attacker, where is the evidence that this was the moment that the ball left the passing player's foot? If the footage is rolled a millisecond or two further forward, he'd appear onside and nobody would query it at all. There HAS to be a margin for error, given this major flaw.

Yep, especially on the shitty frame rate the footage is shown on. The refs are entirely beholden to TV companies as well, what kind of a system is that.

That lad is going to cost Rodgers and Leicester points galore the longer he stays there. Does not seem to learn. I remember him throwing his weight about v our U23's every time we played them.

He missed all the game’s best chances. Unusual from him.

Well that was an exciting game. These Friday night encounters have been a thing for a couple of seasons and I can't really remember many good contests. Leicester's 9-0 was earlier in the campaign but you'd be hard pressed to describe that as a contest.
