They are 6th in serie A, not prime Real Madrid, so apparently plenty of teams have figured how to beat them
We came into these games without a plan. 180 minutes of confused looks.

IMO this debacle is very different from the Palace and United games. There we created quite a lot of chances, but failed to convert.
Our xG against CP was 2.74, which should be enough to win comfortably

Normally with a team that goes man for man with you you beat them with superior players but we have players short of confidence, short of fitness or have been over played. It was a perfect storm.

Out of interest those who want shot of Salah would you get rid of f all the 30+ players? Or does this just apply to Mo? It's appeared to me for a while, that we lack a certain amount of leadership at the moment. So, how far would everyone go here?

It’s really hard Jill, we’ve looked our best this season when we had a mix of experience with youth.. Bradley, Quansah, Danns, Clark when getting minutes played with no fear and bundles of energy.

So for me I wonder if some of the older guard need a refresh as much as the team does, but no we can’t rip up the squad but we also need to bring in new ideas, fresh energy and give others a chance to step up into that leadership position.

Robbo, Van Dijk, Alisson, Trent is enough to retain for another year etc.

It's not just Klopp that has no energy. I feel physically and emotionally drained and I'm a fan, not a player.

100% agree. It's been a hell of a ride with Jurgen and only 100% commitment from players, manager and fans got us to the heights we reached. But it's like the whole thing is running on empty now. This past 11 days has really hurt and left me shattered. Imagine what it's like for the squad.

The second half was so disappointing. It's easier said than done but the thought process should been, the man to man marking has made it impossible to play out from the back or play through the thirds so how do we combat that? They should have been hitting the ball into Nunez and surrounding him to win the second ball. Or they should have been hitting the ball into the opposition's corners and trying to win the ball from there. We needed to be in the opposition final third but we played most of the second half near our own penalty box. We were going out and at that stage, you have to gamble.

Personally, I always expected Salah to leave after this season. However, to all those who want him out, who replaces him? None of our current attackers are showing that they can reach Salah’s numbers so it would mean a massive outlay on transfers. So we could be in for another depressing transfer thread over the summer!

It's not a case of wanting him out. Edwards is in charge and I don't see him giving Salah a contract. If Edwards were in charge he wouldn't have given Henderson a contract.

Again that mid season African Nations has ruined his season.

His output after coming back from them shows his numbers dropping considerably.

I don’t think he should have gone at his age, not given how important he is for the team.

Given that the three that were on it are some of my favourites on TAW usually, I was really surprised at what I was hearing on the Pink. Neil was talking about "love" and "Salah being brilliant and scoring a brilliant pen". I just couldn't recognise a lot of these things in what I saw. I mean I understand people not wanting to slaughter a gang of players and manager that we really have loved, but I felt like I'd watched an entirely different game.

As brilliant as Neil is in a lot of ways, I feel that one minor issue TAW has sometimes is his personality overpowering the conversation. So if Neil decides one of the most whimperish exits from Europe I've ever seen is fine and full of positives, then the others fall a bit into line with that.

I think Neil, Ben and Adam are all fantastic, but just thought that was a strange listen after one of the sadder games I can remember - a truly great era petering out.

Well he is done, said so himself. But only for a year. Lots of stress taking on the cheats year after year, so a rest would do him good. Still don't see why we can't put our Pep in charge for a season and Klopp has a year off. He's still better than all the managers were linked with.

Sorry no to Pep for me, couldn’t have another season of watching Gomez try to invert against a press if Trent got injured.
