With the front three being covered and Robbo still being without proper backup, I really think Klopp should consider using Shaqiri as a left back backup.
When he came to professional football left back was his first position he played (at Basel), he later changed to a winger before he got to Bayern. Kinda what happened to Gareth Bale on a smaller scale. So I think it might be worth a shot, what do you think?

I see what you're saying, but Milner does that job already, and he's so good at it. If Robbo is rested, I think I'd prefer Milner at LB and Shaqiri in midfield or forward.

Haha shaqiri at left back!

I think larouci deserves a chance there when Robertson is out.

Is he injured?

Such a waste of a talented player - I know there's not really any room for him at the moment but it can't just be me who feels bad for the guy? Far too good to not even be on the bench most of the time (when he's not injured).

He picks up a lot of little injuries here and there. I would expect we move him this summer. But we will certainly use him the rest of the season when we can to spell the starters.

Not sure if he's injured but I completely agree. We've barely really seen him and he's still been involved in some amazing moments.

He's open to moving to Newcastle IF their takeover is completed?  Hope we rinse them for him then!  A CL/CWC/EUSC/PL winner should be worth a few bob to a mug like Steve Bruce.

Isn’t it a precaution that if a player is earmarked for transfer they would be protected from injuries to avoid any snag to the deal?

But it is still speculative at best at this stage. Who knows if the Newcastle takeover will go ahead?

Nevertheless, Shaq is too good and too young not to be playing first team football. He is more suited in a 4-4-2 or a 4-5-1 and we don’t play either of it. Hope he is given some opportunity either here or elsewhere.

We're not even doing full contact training mate. Can't protect him anymore than the training we currently doing.

I don't believe the Newcastle link.Think it's a case of getting interest in him but I like him and hope he stays.

Strange how he was getting so much game time last season up until around 2nd week in december then besides barca home when we had everton at home this year and watford at home i can’t remember him starting a game.  Hes frustrating in possession yeah so I can see why he doesnt play too many games but why did he go from a good 4th choice chipping in with a handful of goals to nothing?

Klopp said he made it compulsory for everyone to attend.

Yeh love Shaq (lol)

Total enthusiasm and joy at playing football and so made up about being at LFC.

A bit sad that so many fans keep talking incessantly about his leaving/being sold. Yeh it may well happen but while he's still here can't we at least pretend we're glad and hope he might stay and keep smiling that infectious smile (and scoring against Mancs and Bitters)?

It's a bit of a quandary. Give him game time or build for the future with Harvey?

Or use them both as subs for Mane and Salah. Problem solved.

No 5 pal... We get 40 medals(for players and staff) and any player that has 5 appearances automatically gets one.

I don't know but Liverpool FC might apply for more considering Covid 19 and the 5 sub rule.
