Should have just kept hold of Bellamy and/or Kuyt, eh? Bellamy may have wanted to leave but he was under contract - we could have kept hold of him if we wanted.
Would love the 19th more and more trophies; but would love even more to see a fan owned LFC.

I assume we're an attractive proposition for him.  However, until a more reputable source reports it I'm not getting my hopes up.

Glad to see that shithouse signing for Stoke rugby club there now, ending all chances of him going back to Anfield.

Tell him to keep inside the penalty area, Suarez can do most the work, but instead of doing a terrible shot, pass to Del Piero who scores
He could take some of the creative burden off Suarez too. He won't play every game but he could give us magic every now and then.

Wait this is pointless, no?

I thought we were meant to submit the 25 man squad at 4pm today?

Adam Morgan dislikes.  :-\

I think it would be something more like 'Adam Morgan is buzzing his fucking tits off'

If I was a striker just coming through to the first team and there was a chance I could get to train/play with/watch/learn with Alessandro Del Piero I would probably not sleep for a good 2 weeks. One of the best and classiest strikers ever in my opinion.

Under 21s don't need to be registered iirc which means we've only got about 15 players to register.

He will probably be useless in PL; but seeing as we are playing quite a bit on Thursday night against 'lighter' teams, he would be useful.

If we sign him now, can we play with Young Boys?

Apparently SkySports and an Aussie bloke have started talking about it, so I've reopened this in the hope we'll get better news.
I'm still personally dubious about Sky Sports being a source of useful or reliable news but its gathering momentum and only fair we get to discuss it.

The general opinion of everyone (from what I can gather) is that on a short term basis, provided his wage demands aren't ridiculous (say £150k), it's a no brainer. He'd offer so much, and could really help some of the youngsters too. I'm assuming he's just a little bit interested in us, otherwise he'd have signed for Sydney already.

Are you saying 150k is ridiculous or not? What would be a viable wage to offer him?

I'm saying £150k is ridiculous. I think £100-£120k on a 6 month contract would be ideal.

It would have been ideal for us.  Yes.

I do wonder what we offered.

Why do we continue to quote weekly wages in football, when in every other reputable form of employment we get an annual salary, paid monthly, as do footballers. This £120k a week for 6 months is £3m and he would probably want a season, which would be £5m plus probable add ons. Still good business for effectively an aged name.

So we wave Maxi, Bellamy and Kuyt out the door and people want a 37 year old Del Piero. Madness
Fuck it, I'm taking me dog for a walk. The pair of us are completely bollocksed and take turns a piece dragging one another along. We look a bit like one of Roy's midfield pairings, but with a wee bit more guile and panache. Well, on the dog's side, anyway

Be brilliant if he signed for us, for the simple pun of having Rodders and Del Boy together again  ;)

When they left, we - and the manager - expected replacements to be coming in.  We didn't get them in the window, so there are very few options left.

Del Piero also scored the same number of goals as Kuyt last year - despite getting far less game time.

News conference in Turin this afternoon to announce where he's going. Probably not now Liverpool, according to SSN. Shame that, would've been interesting having him.
