Downloaded and watched the whole series in the last week. It is quality. It's very hard to pick a favourite character because so many are so good, reminiscent of The Office - Tim, Gareth, David all brilliant for different reasons. Also a brilliant collection of beautiful women - Gloria, Claire (Julie Bowen, who I've been watching for over a decade through 4 different shows) and the eldest daughter (she's twenty, thankyouverymuch)

It's a very strong script, to the point where even the ridiculous, that I normally role my eyes at, is acceptable and funny, examples being the ice skating and the pigeon fight.

If I had a gun to my head I'd pick Phil as the best character, especially from the iPad episode onwards. That episode, Van Gogh, race to the airport, re-enacted honeymoon, basketball games...brilliant.

Is there any word on Season 2...?

Love this programme. Watched the first season in a week - absolutely brilliant. So many great scenes and all of the characters are ace.

Loved the scene in the final episode when Jay throws Luke, Manny and the pool attendant in the water. Had me in stitches. All of it is quality.

Unreal!

Hope it cuts the mustard. You never know with American TV how things are received and whether or not they're given more seasons. Arrested Development lasting only 3 seasons is pretty fucking shit.

Downloaded and went through this a couple weeks ago, was kind of hesitant since they're showing it on the free tv here in Australia, and usually everything they buy is just fucking shite, or finished broadcasting in America about 2 years earlier, pleasantly surprised with what I got, and slightly annoyed I didn't find it sooner. Absolutely love it, certainly get that AD nostalgia although it hasn't quite hit those heights, but who knows. Nice blend with the Office as well, as others have said. Lot of potential, and a lot of expectation for the second season, which is only a couple weeks away.

While I haven't started on the new season yet, I did find this tidbit of casting news and squealed, in a macho way.

Spoiler
Mary Lynn Rajskub (Chloe from 24) has been cast as Mitchell's old high school girlfriend. She was hilarious as Gail the Snail in It's Always Sunny as Philadelphia, and I think I read she got started as a stand-up comic, should be brilliant.

Thought the first couple of episodes of season two were weak compared to the previous. Hoping this show isn't a one-trick pony.

This has been really good this year in a traditional sitcom sort of a way (without the canned laughter though!).

The Haloween ep was pretty good, don't know why like:
